Well, this was an uneven movie! As a movie as a whole, it wasn’t perfect. But there were certain sections that were perfect. And, you know, trigger warning for people who are worn out dealing with gender issues. You can read the review and have a helpful supportive discussion here, but maybe don’t force yourself to watch the movie? Put it in the Article 15 pile.

Not the best movie, not the worst movie. It was on Netflix, and it had Asif Ali and Bhavana, that was enough for me to try it.

This is a film that was recommended in the comments last Monday, after I admitted to an affection for Asif Ali. A fascinating film, about big fish and little fish and swimming with the water and seeing what is underneath.

Well, this was a nice little movie! Which is what I was looking for, a nice happy sunshiney Malayalam movie to watch while it was freezing cold outside. Oh, and also, Asif Aslam was in it, and I like him.

They are so groundbreaking and wonderful when they come out, but then after they have cut out the new path, the films that come after it are so much more luxurious and elaborate, it makes that poor struggling scratched and damaged first film look like nothing in comparison.
