I have decided! I haven’t seen Junglee, and this will get me to finally watch it, so let’s go with this one! And I am super SUPER looking forward to actually for real seeing you all again!

Thinky Post: Should Mothers Be Held to a Different Standard?
Netflix is releasing an Indira Mukerjea documentary, the Lori Vallow and Ruby Franke stories are still big news in America, and so far as I can tell from looking at international true crime, anything involving a mother harming her child for her own gain is big news everywhere. Why is that? And is that justified?
Continue readingChatty Check-In Post: What Are You Looking Forward to This Spring and Summer?
We haven’t had a good chat in a bit! And it feels like this a good February topic, as we all start cranking up 2024 and figuring out plans and all that.
Continue readingMonday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me on American President’s Day???
Happy Monday! I am still just flying from our Zoom call on Sunday! We definitely need to do more of those. And hey, I’m actually getting this post out this week ON MONDAY. Not Monday morning, but at least it’s the right day? I’m getting there.
Continue readingSangam Discussion Post! For Those Who Can’t Make the Zoom!
Ready for coolness? I had this open WHILE WE WERE ZOOM TALKING and I made notes!!! So it’s like you were in the Zoom, even if you weren’t. And you can just pick up our discussion from where we left off.
Continue readingOne Hour Sangam Zoom Discussion! 6:30 Chicago Time on Saturday!!!!
Woo-hoo! Saturday evening my time, which should be late afternoon West Coast, and slightly later evening East Coast. I’m excited and hopefully everyone who is interested can make it. If not, I’ll also be posting a discussion space.

I was gonna come up with a more specific theme for this post, but no! Just doing Valentine’s Day!

Happy Saturday! I got to sleep allllllllllllll the way to 8am today. And now I get to watch this lovely thing with you lovely people, and drive around doing errands, and then come home and have dinner with The Upstairs People. Oh, and if everyone ends up being too busy to come, I will give it 15 minutes for someone to join and then quit posting comments.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Thank You For Coming, 8am Chicago Time Saturday, on Netflix!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, watchalong!!!! Hoping folks can make it, I picked 8am instead of 7am because this is a less than 2 hour movie. Be warned, it is also NOT a child friendly movie (sex sex sex in the plot), so those with kids, take care.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Who Wants to Watch a Female Friendship Sex Comedy By the Team Behind Veere Di Wedding?
I just learned through an Anil Kapoor interview that Rhea’s made another female friendship movie! I love her female friendship movies! But I would rather watch them with an actual group of friends, so I am hoping I can coordinate a watchalong.
Continue readingFighter Review (SPOILERS): That Was a Dull 3 Hours of My Life
As I said in the No Spoilers, the worst fault of this film is that it was BORING. To the point that I may have missed plot points because it was just so DULL. Even worse, I noticed plot holes because I wasn’t distracted enough.
Continue readingFighter Review (No Spoilers): I Kept Checking the Time, Not a Good Sign
Forget the politics, the stars, the songs, all the rest of it. You may want to skip this movie just because I found myself checking the time every 15 minutes. That’s baaaaaaaaaaaad! Especially since I kept going “It’s only been 15 minutes??? That felt like an hour!”
Continue readingDCIB Book/Movie Club: Sangam! Watch it, and then Discuss it On Saturday Feb 17!
Bhansali inspired me! Sangam is SUCH a good movie, and there is so much to consider in it, I think it is a perfect one for us all to talk about.
Continue readingSunday Small Talk: Things to Talk About! Bhansali and Dharma Announcements, and Wizard of Oz
Happy Sunday! I am maybe actually feeling healthy, but I don’t want to jinx it. Spent yesterday sleeping and reading and eating and trying to let my body kick the infection, and it MAY have worked? Still have 5 days of antibiotics left and I won’t feel really safe until I finish them all.
Continue readingFighter Release Day Post! Let Us All Remember the Greatest Dance/Flight Moment of Film!
Happy Fighter Release Day! I am SO EXCITED! I’m also still a little sick but hoping I can power through (and I will be wearing a mask because I am a good person).
Continue readingWednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to THE WEEK FIGHTER COMES OUT????
Happy Wednesday! I’m sick! Urgent care said maybe strep throat and gave me a prescription just to be safe (I am the reason for mega-bacterial resistant diseases, I feel SO GUILTY. But also very sick, so I’m willing to roll the dice and see if it cures me instead of waiting for tests to confirm). Important for you, I’m putting off seeing Fighter until Friday when I will hopefully be healthy again. So stay tuned! Review/discussion coming then!
Continue readingWednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking and Listening to This Yuchy Day???
Happy Wednesday! It’s 10 degrees warmer in Chicago than it was yesterday, and yet still well below freezing.
Continue readingDCIB Awards 2023: Best SRK Character! In 3 Different Categories!
It is soooooooooooooo cold in Chicago right now! So cold that the schools are closed just for the cold. So I want to huddle inside and think about SRK and warm myself from the inside out.

Happy Saturday! I got my coffee, I let the dog out, I’m all tucked in for the morning. Who will join me in watching a lovely beachy movie? And if no one shows up by 20 minutes in, I’ll just shut down and watch by myself 🙂
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: Dear Zindagi! Tomorrow Morning! 7am Saturday Chicago Time!
Let’s do this thing!!!! Hopefully it’s not too last minute (especially for the internationals). If it is, that’s okay, I’ll give y’all 15 minutes to join and then just watch on my own.
Continue readingWeekend WatchAlong: I Need Happy Sunshine! Who Will Watch Dear Zindagi With Me? And Saturday or Sunday Morning?
It’s supposed to snow all day Friday and part of Saturday, and then be FREEZING, so I won’t really want to go out this weekend. But I WILL want to take an imaginary trip to Goa for wise words from SRK.
