Oh boy, a Patriarchy Post! And one that I don’t really have an answer for, that’s why it is a “thinky” post.Continue reading
So many news stories today! I’m gonna start with the two big think-y ones, the ones with massive legal implications, a rape case of a minor actor/band member (trust me, you haven’t heard of him and will have no emotional response because of fandom), and the same old Blackbuck case. And after I get this long deep boring post out of the way, I will move on to Imraan Khan getting divorced and fun stuff like that.Continue reading
I’m pretty sure I’m not the best person to write this post, and fairly sure I don’t know what I am talking about. But I’m frustrated that no one else better than me is even trying, so I’m going to take a stab at it.Continue reading
This is a very complicated confusing post with a lot of big things in it. And it starts with a very upsetting story, so watch out for that. But I also seed little fun videos within it, so that should lighten things up a bit. Or, if you want only the serious things, you can ignore the videos.
Happy Monday! I haven’t done a news post in a while, but I have been reading the news. Rest assured that all the various big stories have been processed in my brain, I just choose not to address all of them. These few here are the ones I find interesting.
Have you noticed that Bollywoodhungama always puts the really boring stories to the front with stuff like “You Won’t Believe!” or “Wow!” and then buries the really big ones? Well, Jeetendra’s rape accusation is that times a thousand. This has got to be the biggest story in the industry today, and everyone one is reporting it, but also burying it a little. Not just Bollywoodhungama, every website. I mean, they are reporting it, that’s good, but it’s not getting the kind of extra special obsessive treatment that Irrfan’s announcement-that-isn’t-really-an-announcement is getting.
BAAHUBALI!!!!! I saw it 7 times in 10 days in the theater (Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday again, and another Tuesday), and then pre-ordered the DVD and watched it 4 more times with the few friends who had missed it in theaters. But that was a couple months before I started the blog, so I’ve never actually written a review of it. But now that Baahubali 2 is about to come out (FINALLY!), it’s time. And since this is a looooooooooooooong one, I am splitting it in two days, Monday and Tuesday. Hey, it was released in both Malayalam and Telugu/Tamil, right?
One of these really really doesn’t matter, but the other one kind of does, because it is hiding a story that does. Well, two stories
