Sometimes I really hate media. This is being sold as “Alia-Kangana Feud Heats Up!”, but really it is just Kangana making wild insane (literally) accusations and Alia trying not to deal with it. Exactly like the Hrithik situation, which was sold as “Hrithik-Kangana Break-Up Goes Bad!” instead of “Hrithik Roshan is Victimized by a Stalker”.Continue reading
Well, Kangana is now publicly spiraling out. And the response is STILL “gee, so outspoken, so honest!” Well, at least from the comments and analysis on her pet site Pinkvilla, I think other sites are a wee bit more “this woman is crazy”.Continue reading
I don’t have a super lot to say about any of these stories, but maybe you will? Anyway, they are worth repeating.Continue reading
Not usual to do a news post on a Wednesday night, but I just could not resist the Manikarnika story. You know how addictive I find that whole disastrous soap opera.Continue reading
Either there is always a lot of news on Mondays, or I am always catching up on all the news I missed over the weekend. Either way, here is a post!Continue reading
This is mostly just because there is one news story here that is so perfectly crafted to make frequent commentator Angie very angry that I couldn’t resist it. And then I threw in two others just to fluff up the post.
Nice little variety of news items today. Nothing super exciting, and no there are no wedding photos yet, but I haven’t done a news post in a while so it seemed like I should.
Ready for me to be grumpy? Sometimes I just am, I read these news stories and think “everyone is stupid and gullible!” and it bothers me.
We have now entered the stage of the news cycle when the actual thing gets hidden under people talking about the thing, and then people talking about talking about the thing. So, fine, I will contribute to the talking about talking about with the only exchange I find particularly remarkable. Other people said eloquent things, wrong things, right things, and so on. It’s just that this exchange is so odd, I can’t help but repeat it so you can tell me “no, you’re right, it is odd!” And so it can also serve as a reminder of the kind of public discourse that somehow goes without comment in the Hindi film industry.
Oh there is FUN STUFF today!!!!!!! Talk about contract disputes and filming hierarchies, my favorite! Oh, and also terrible gossip that lets us feel like better people than celebrities and gives that little “zing” of excitement from conspiracy theories.
Some interesting little stories today! With some interesting things to think about in terms of Big Questions of Indian society and film and fun stuff like that. And also, little petty questions like “what the heck is happening on the Manikarnika set and why are they trying so hard to cover it up?”
There is one really big story, but so long as I am covering things, I might as well cover the little stories too.
Quick news report for you all. Not much for me to analyze, but hopefully lots for you to chew over as I spend the day with family/nursing my poor car along.
Quick one today, nothing super exciting, but some fun stuff to think about and maybe for you all to talk about.
It was so nice not reporting Priyanka news for years and years. But now she is back and I can’t escape her. And I really don’t like it, because it makes me sound a little mean and a lot crazy, but on the other hand, it is what it is and this is the only way to interpret it. Other stuff is more interesting though, so I can talk lots and lots about that and little little about PC.
Well, this is the gossip cycle that will never end. I don’t know why I am surprised, this is how it happens, right? The gossip comes out, and then everyone reacts to it, and then everyone reacts to the reactions. And I am part of the problem, because it is just barely on the line of affecting the industry and the big messages of stuff so I feel like I should talk about it. Oh, and also Pa Ranjith might make a Hindi film, yaaaaay!
One of these things has a much greater effect on my life than the other. Totally throws my Bharat plans for a loop, and probably throws everyone’s Bharat plans for a loop. Including the Bharat team.
Monday Monday, news news. Nothing really exciting, like a contract dispute or something, but still some things for us to chew over.
I have 20 minutes before the kids get here, so I am going to write a news report post real quick, and then dig a croquet set out of the attic so they can hit each other with mallets. Or possibly actually play croquet, but that seems unlikely.
I don’t know if I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today or what, but the way BollywoodHungama is so shamelessly acting as a PR machine is really bugging me today. So I’m gonna report their “stories” but I also can’t help but call out their shame.
This is a suuuuuuuuper fast news report, because I am still on vacation and I want to spend time with my sister, not blog. But I also feel it’s not fair to all of you, who read me so faithfully, not to provide content! And anyway, there were a couple of interesting stories today.
Boy, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these! Rest assured, I have been reading the headlines and stuff all along, I just haven’t been writing about them.
Happy Veteran’s Day! I bring you greetings from my sister’s living room while we watch Nagarjuna on the TV (we needed something nice to wake up to). Very exciting to wake up to, SO MUCH NEWS!!!! Including the continuing saga of Abhishek.
Happy Saturday! I am cooking cooking cooking (new stove is hear and I have 5 pumpkins!), and also running back and forth to the movie theater, so no time for a real deep post. But at least I can throw up a news post!
Yay! For the first time, actually follow-up news stories! I am getting better about this, checking the news at least once a week so I’m not totally out of the loop.
