I already put up the winning real life stories of 2017, now lets move on to where film and real life overlap, the promotions that try to drive people into the movies. What films were over-promoted, leading to disappointment. And what were under-promoted, leading to delightful surprises? And what were just plain wrong promoted, leading to both?
Yeah, nothing is ever going to be as pun friendly as Tubelight. Even Toilet, when it comes, will be just too obvious, no scope for invention. And this week I have to make do with alliteration. I already put up my No Spoilers review, which should answer the question “should I see this movie?” for you. This review is for “I don’t want to see this movie but I am mildly curious what it is about” or “I have just seen this movie and I’m not sure what to think about it” kind of people.
Well, I saw Mubarakan. And I thought, “should I stay up super late and write a review to go up at midnight? Naaaaaaaah!” So hopefully no one was staying up desperately refreshing my site waiting for it to post.
Well, Karan Johar is tweeting about it, so that means it must be news. Fine! I will talk about the new Jagga Jasoos trailer! And then as a reward for my good behavior, I will talk about the trailers I actually like.
Well, that’s not really fair, I don’t know yet if they are better films because these films haven’t come out. But I can suspect they are better films, because the films they remind me of were really really good, and it showed even in the trailer.
