Can I cackle with glee at being correct, while still being depressed that the box office hasn’t sprung back? I think I can! Especially because the box office is bright depending on where you look.
Another depressing week at the box office! Which people are trying to spin as good thanks to Judwaa breaking Badrinath Ki Dulhania‘s record. But that was on many fewer screens with a lot less pressure, whereas right now Judwaa is the only game in town and it’s just not doing that great if you think of it that way. Well, this was a bad week! Overseas, that is. From what I am seeing, the Indian figures are still good. But overseas, we did not like things. Oh, and I’m trying something new, youtube video about all this is embedded in the post, instead of squeezing two posts out of it.
Well, this was an actual good movie! A no shortcuts, no lack of imagination, no lack of quality, straight up good movie. How refreshing! Something I could see myself going to with my parents, or seeing a second time just on my own. Not flawless, but actually really really good! It’s been awhile since I had that. Certainly better than the movie I saw last night. (Spoiler review for this going up on Tuesday, the usual Tuesday Telugu)
This is thanks to two commentators, Filmilibrarian who reminded me about Victoria & Abdul, and Niki who sent me the Spyder teaser seconds after it dropped. Oh, and then Salman Khan who tweeted the new Tubelight song this morning.
