This is such a nice movie!  Not a perfect movie, a little confused in some parts, felt like the connective tissue was missing a bit, but overall a very nice movie.

Good morning! Or “bad morning”. I am not having a good day, and I am probably not going to have a good next week, so the focus of this Saturday’s Small Talk is “Let’s Cheer Up Margaret!” Well, and everyone else, because the week after Christmas is always kind of sucky.

I’ve got an extra day off next week and I want to get back into the swing of things, so I need a Malayalam film to review. BUT! I am also sick and depressed (my sister gave me her cold and Christmas is over)! I don’t want any of that “and then the rain falls over their shattered lives” Malayalam endings. HAPPY! HAPPY HAPPY! What is happy and also high quality and also I haven’t watched/reviewed it yet?

This is an interesting movie.  Because it is both a sports movie and a true story, which means we know everything about it already.  But at the same time, we don’t, because we don’t know what particular angle the filmmaker is going to choose to look at to show us this story. 

This is a Zero inspired post, but isn’t about Zero, or about Khan movies, it is about the difference between a wide release movie and a regular release movie and why all the eggs are increasingly going in the wide release basket. This is also one of many posts I have written on the same topic, never saying exactly the same thing. Which is kind of the point, the film industry is complex with multiple forces at work on it, I can write many different long posts talking about all the things that might affect box office beyond 3 actors.

Christmas is over, but the Christmas give away continues!!!!! There are many of you I haven’t heard from, new and old commentators, and I am happy to give a card to ALL of you. Just give me your address.

I am so excited, FINALLY a full length Ek Ladki Ko Dekha trailer!!!!! And it looks very unusual and very interesting and I am excited.

So exciting! A Shahrukh release box office day! And, as usual lately, it is neither the exciting flop nor the exciting hit that the media wants it to be. Sometimes things are just kind of bad without being “the Worst EVER”! (as always figures from bollywoodhungama)

This is not just Boxing Day, but also SALMAN DAY!!!!! Yaaaaay! And to celebrate, instead of digging out my same old “50+ reasons I love you” posts, I am reposting my review of my favorite Salman movie. Really highly encourage everyone to watch it who has not yet seen it.

Happy Christmas afternoon! We are all sitting around playing with our new toys and dozing lightly, and I just checked in with Indian film and Salman’s twitter was so cheerful and full of holiday joy, I just had to share it! Did you think I would forget you? I did not! Well, I kind of did, this post was written yesterday and scheduled. But I still wanted to put up some kind of holiday greeting.

I wrote a silly thing for Sunday using Christmas traditions for fanfic.  And I am doing a Christmas Card giveaway.  All of that is kind of silly and superficial, it may seem as though I don’t take the holiday seriously.  Or maybe I do, but I don’t find anything in it that can overlap with my Hindi film love.  And that’s not the case, so I want to write a post about why Christmas is so important to me, and how it wraps itself around every part of my life, including the films I watch.
