There used to be a movie store in the gay neighborhood of my city that had a series of shelves called “Neighborhood Favorites”. Which was their little pseudonym for movies with same sex romantic plot lines. So maybe I should say that instead, all the Khans, plus Amitabh, should be in “neighborhood favorite” movies.
Angie asked on Monday if there were any female Devdas-type stories, and we couldn’t come up with something exactly right. So obviously, I have to write it.
Happy Pride! Not a lot out there for representation of Queerness in Indian film, but I will highlight what I can.
