I’m not a southern film expert, like, AT ALL. But I do know enough to suggest 5 films that might help you to understand why Rajini Sir is such a big deal, and what he means to people. Because I just went through that journey myself and these are the 5 films that helped me. And apparently his next film is going to be big BIG (since just the first look poster got a cross-language release), so now is a good time to study up.

And the May Day celebration roles on! I just keep thinking of more “woo-hoo, the working class!” songs.
Continue readingKaala Teaser! Big Enough I am interrupting my vacation for it!
Greetings from the airport! Where I am all energized from the Kaala teaser! If Rajinikanth can still do fight scenes at 60, I can definitely handle dragging a suitcase through the airport.
Netflix List for December! Aamir Signs His Netflix Deal
Well, Aamir Khan clearly signed a new deal with Netflix. The odd random collection of films he has produced are now available. Yes, including Delhi Belly and (less importantly) Lagaan. (Accessbollywood.net does the real work of keeping this list updated, you should definitely absolutely subscribe to them for your day to day updates.)
Tuesday Tamil: Kabali Again, in Honor of it Being on Netflix
I really have to update my Netflix list! Kabali was just added, and that is definitely a MUST WATCH. In the meantime, I will just re-post the review I put up after I saw it in theaters. And also because no one is commenting or reading right now (especially Tamil/Telugu reviews), so I have lost the will to write anything new.
Favorite Movie of 2016, Editor’s Choice: A Tie Between a Movie that is Exquisite, and One that is Revolutionary
Oh this is just too hard! Out of all the movies from 2016, which one is my absolute favorite? Hmmm. Oh! I just remembered a loophole! Oh good, I’m all set then. I get to talk about my favorite films that weren’t mainstream Hindi and didn’t necessarily get a big release, and why I loved them anyway. And why you should love them (and see them) too.
Kabali: My First Tamil and My First Rajinikanth Film in Theaters!

Friday News Round-Up (Mostly Photos): Aamir’s Ears, Shahrukh and Ali, and Kabali Box Office
What happened to the scandals? The nice juicy scandals? Or even a new film announcement! Or rumor! I don’t know, it just felt like there used to be more news in these news round-ups. Oh well, at least this one has some nice pictures.
Hey! There’s a HUGE Deal Movie Coming Out Today! (Kabali Post, by popular demand)
I just had two separate commentators point out that I haven’t mentioned anything about Kabali yet. And, unrelated to that, I just discovered I will have to drive an extra half an hour next time I want to see Sultan, because all SIX screens at my local Indian multiplex are playing Kabali and nothing else for the next week. So, I guess it’s time for a post!
