Happy Monday! I was woken at 11:30 last night by a friends text chain sharing tornado stories. Very exciting! Chicago doesn’t often get tornados! And then I had to get up early to drop off bagels at the house of a friend who’s basement flooded, and zip by and check on my new two flat to make sure it didn’t flood. HOMEOWNERSHIP!

But now that I am a mature almost 36 year old, I think I can handle being the center of attention (blurgh). Especially since this year in Real Life I am going to be completely isolated, yaaaaaaaaaay! My dream birthday! I rented a luxury hotel room at super cheap rates, I am going to enjoy a king size bed and cable TV and a clean bathroom all to myself. Also, I booked a luxury pedicure and massage. Ahhhh.

I mailed most of my cards weeks ago, plus my special Valentine’s gift for my nephew, and yesterday I hand delivered a combo Valentine’s/new cat present, the last card that I will hand deliver day of to make it special. I have heard some people treat Valentine’s as a holiday between romantic couples, but I think that is crazy. I treat it as a “time to send nice presents/cards to everyone and anyone who is important in my life”.
