My office is both extremely hot (the heater is malfunctioning) and busy (so many phone calls!), so I’m not even gonna do a real news analysis post. On the other hand, lots to discuss from Instagram! Well, lots of shallow image based gossip to discuss.Continue reading
This movie had honest trailers, so if you liked what you saw in the trailer, the weird look and the twisted plot idea and so on, then you should avoid this review and read the No Spoilers instead. The film is far more enjoyable if you don’t know the twists. But if you saw the trailers and felt like it wasn’t for you, then it probably isn’t for you and you can just read this review instead.Continue reading
I did it! I watched it! Just for you all. And it was odd and unpleasant to watch, in a way that I thought was on purpose, but apparently not.Continue reading
Thank you Niki for alerting me that this exists! And now I’ve watched it and I am honestly not sure what to say about it. So I guess this is more of a discussion post than anything.Continue reading
I am guessing the overlap between Shahrukh fans/Netflix watchers/Tubelight watchers is very very limited. But for those of you who are familiar with all three, hopefully you (like me) are thinking “YES! That would be perfect!!!”Continue reading
More important decisions! You can pick only the ones on which you feel confident, or make random guesses on all of them (just like filling out a ballot). Remember, most comments this month wins a poster!Continue reading
So important to participate in a democratic election! If you don’t vote, your voice won’t be heard. And the wrong Shahrukh Khan film could be chosen as his best ever! Or the wrong Malayalam actress, or the wrong Hindi actor. Vote in the comments, you can give a choice for each category or just the ones you feel confident about. Remember, most comments this month wins a poster!Continue reading
I really hope a lot of you are watching this on Netflix! It is such a happy good feeling family movie, I feel like the world will be a better place if more people watch it.Continue reading
The sleeper hit of 2017, that would have been a straight up hit-hit in 2018. Great cast, great script, good songs but they were cut down too much.Continue reading
Once again, I am running late. But this wasn’t a super interesting episode, so hopefully it won’t take me long to write it up.Continue reading
I really liked this movie. And you should watch it without SPOILERS, if you can (Kirre Ranin! This means YOU!), read this other review instead. But if you really really can’t see it and want to know what happens, you can read this. Honestly, it’s such a slow happy family movie, it’s more about the experience than the details, I can’t “spoil” itContinue reading
Such a happy making movie! Really, wonderful and shiny and fun and I think, if you are part of the DCIB community, you will love it.Continue reading
I love FanFic from the comments! Partly because it is always more fun when it is written as a collaboration, partly because it means I know at least one person will be interested in reading it. Although really, you should all read it. Not all my FanFics are good, but this is a really really good one.Continue reading
Have I mentioned before how HORRIBLE the Indian press is? It’s HORRIBLE!!!!! And now I have to do an Priyanka story AGAIN just because I seem to be the only one doing the 10 seconds of research required to present it accurately. Why do you make me do this, Bollywoodhungama “reporters”??????? (and now you are thinking “why is Margaret complaining? it’s her own fault for reading BH.” And I know, you’re right.)
This is almost as indulgent as when I rewrote The Philadelphia Story. Who in this day and age and on an Indian film blog knows the movie All About Eve? To the point of remembering all the details of the characters and themes and stuff? Oh well, it makes me happy, and keeps me tied to me roots (my roots being American movies before 1960 which were what I watched exclusively for the first 18 years of my life). Anyway, Procrastinatrix suggested the idea, so I know she at least will be interested.
Fun movie, funny movie, intricate movie. I am really looking forward to digging up how it was put together! And I am really really looking forward to all of you helping me understand the ending. Oh, and if you haven’t seen it, get over to my No Spoilers review instead! You should read it anyway, because that’s where I talk about performances and stuff.
What a fun movie! I don’t totally love it as much as I totally love A Gentleman, but it is in the same family of humor. So I am going to take this moment, once again, to plug A Gentleman. If you like this movie, you will like that one! Oh, and you probably will like this movie. It is very likable.
Well, this is just an orgy of nepotism today! Some good, some bad, some boring. Anyway, trailers!
I already put up my No Spoilers review. You can read that if you are obsessed with avoiding spoilers, or you can read this. It’s a remake, so most of the plot is already is to find out, not like I am revealing big secrets here.
Well, this was not a good movie! But a not-good movie in that way where I could see the goodness struggling to break through, and then being suffocated by bad choices. Very frustrating, with a different cast and a slightly different script, this could have been something special.
Rainy rainy rainy here. And, I assume, rainy rainy rainy there too. So heck, I’m gonna do rain stories. And rain makes me feel arty, so they will all be reflective little art movies.
Me me, I do I do!!!!! Anil should always play his own age, it’s the only way. I am excited enough that he is getting a post all to himself because there aren’t any other teasers/trailers out today I want to talk about.
Another review and another movie! I am being so productive this weekend. And this was a very different movie from Race 3.
So many videos while I was gone! Oh well, I will try to catch up with them all now, plus 5 Weddings because filmilibrarian asked for it.
I know the Venn diagram overlap of Preston Sturges and Indian film fans is very empty, possibly just contains me, but I don’t care! It’s “silly Sunday”, I can be silly and do whatever I want.
