By golly I am going to make Amit Sadh happen! I will force you to love him!!!! And then the whole world will love him, and he will finally have the career he deserves, and everyone will forget about Ranbir Kapoor. Positive Thinking!!!!Continue reading
Happy Monday! I’m back at work after an adventurous weekend, and taking Albie Dog to the vet to get a million shots and a feces check and all that fun annual stuff. His life is hard some days.Continue reading
Do you trust my judgement? Do you like rom-coms? Then watch this! The hero is dreamy, the heroine is independent, and the plot is shockingly progressive. And romantic!Continue reading
Is this post just an excuse for me to recommend Notebook again? Yes, it might be! But it is also a place for you all to recommend your own “Notebook” type movies.Continue reading
Time for a Netflix update! Which I only do once a month or so, so it’s not up to the minute accurate. But hopefully I make up for that with the descriptions I give them. (Accessbollywood.net does the real work of keeping this list updated, you should definitely absolutely subscribe to them for your day to day updates.)
This was a request from my new anonymous commentator, she was looking for an “underappreciated” list, but when I started to think about it, “underappreciated” is kind of hard to define. So I went with “not your standard massive hits that everyone knows”. Here are some little mini-reviews and suggestions, feel free to add your own in the comments.
I said there were 4 strong contenders for yesterday’s award, most disappointing. But there were 5 times as many for this award! And yet the box office this year was record breakingly bad. Which says interesting things about what kinds of promotions do and don’t work and what kind of films do and don’t work and so on.
I have a question for you! Suggested on Monday by Niki. And of course you can also just talk about what you have been reading/watching/thinking this week.
Happy Wednesday! Time to discuss what we have seen so far this week. And what we have read and what we have thought about what we have read and seen.
I already said in my no SPOILERS review that this is a great great rom-com! And you should definitely go see it if at all possible. Don’t just read my SPOILERS review! Only read it if you have already seen the film, or if you are one of those people who can still enjoy movies even after reading all the spoilers.
Okay, maybe I was just in the right mood, or maybe it’s because romantic comedies come along so rarely these days, but I was really really impressed with this one! Old-fashioned idea, new fashioned execution, real characters with real conflicts, and a happy ending! And a central couple that was kind of cute and sparky. If only there were some really big budget song numbers, it would be the perfect movie. Seriously, if you like light rom-coms and have been waiting for a new one to come out that feels like Happy Bhaag Jayegi or Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, go right over and watch this!
