Hello! Two comments sections got mildly heated this morning (well, heated for this website where everything is generally at 40 degrees Fahrenheit, so going up to even 45 feels hot), so I want to put up a nice soothing post to calm us all down. Mostly calm me down, because I hate replying to/reading semi-heated comments! And also it’s Monday morning and my office is maybe the busiest it has been in 2 months.
Oh boy! My favorite juicy scandalous fascinating addictive news items! That’s right, INSIDE INDUSTRY BUSINESS STORIES! Let’s get into contracts and star rates and all kinds of fun stuff like that! No joke, I really do find these stories way way way more fun to talk about than, like Anushka-Virat wedding news. Maybe you do to! And even if you don’t, you can just not read this! That works too.
Really, not many surprises here. The broad strokes are all familiar. Which is a good thing, stories become legends because they are powerful, why mess with something that works?
Fitoor is certainly the biggest flop of 2016 for the Hindi industry, if not of all time, and may have actually brought about the downfall of an entire studio. So it seems insulting to compare another film to it, but I didn’t actually mean it as an insult. Well, not an insult to Mirzya. I always mean to insult Fitoor, because that is a terrible terrible movie.
It’s like a little “before and after” picture for stardom! Two news stories, one about Varun Dhawan, established young hero with a booming career, and one about Harshvardhan Kapoor, struggling to make it with his big break film about to release. Both of them are making very savvy choices for where they are at the moment, but they are in very different places.
Okay, my last post was pretty hardcore political. Well, as political as movie news gets. You ready for a nice refreshing light weight gossip post?
Yes, I am going to do a post for every Mirzya song video. Because they are all SO GOOD!!! Much better than the movie as a whole will be, I am sure.
I may have mentioned this a few dozen times before, but Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are my all time favorite composers. They have been since I first heard the Lakshya album when I was 19. And they have a new album out!!!! Mirzya full songs are available on Saavn, which presumably means they are available on itunes, spotify, and all the other websites the kids these days use.

Like 5 different people on my twitter feed re-tweeted the Mirzya trailer this morning, so I thought I better watch it, even though I didn’t know any of the stars. So glad I did!
