Alisa/BollywoodNewbie inspired me in another post, the way she does, by pointing out something I was so lost in that I was blind to it: Indian film plays in to certain specific types of romantic fantasies, types that do not work equally for everybody.
Yaaay, my first new Shahrukh review for Shahrukh month!!! I love Koyla, I think it is a secretly really deep film with statements on what is marriage and what is choice and so on. And on top of that, is a totally ridiculous and entertaining action movie. Best of everything!

If you are an Austen person, and somehow have not seen this movie yet, FIX THAT!!! It is one of the all time great Austen adaptations, perfectly captures the spirit of the original while moving it to a modern setting. Plus AR Rahman songs.
Lovely, for Gandhi Jayanti we get a big war film. Which is pretty common actually, or at least an action film, it’s a family holiday and action films can bring in the whole family. Plus, patriotism!
Everyone said I should celebrate Shahrukh Month however I wanted, and today I feel like telling stories. Just little moments that help build up the whole picture of my relationship with him (a one-sided relationship, but still a true one).
What an interesting movie! Good straight through, but the ending is chilling. The price of crime, the sins of the father, brought forward in a very strange kind of a curse.

Happy October! Only 30 days left to Halloween, which means I need to start getting serious about my Christmas present plans. Currently I am thinking about making 14 identical handmade gifts for everyone on my list, which should take me about a week per gift, sooooooooooooooooo I guess I am already running behind?
