Happy Day Before Mother’s Day! I was going to write a fanfic of mother stories for tomorrow that aren’t the usual ones, and then I realized a lot of them had already been in films and I had just forgotten. So let’s celebrate those unusual mothers!
I was putting together all the Aamir reviews yesterday, and suddenly realized, I never reviewed Dil Chahta Hai! How is this possible? It is SUCH an important movie!

Happy Monday again! Normally this is when I would put up a news post, but there is nothing that I am interested talking about. And I am having a hard time getting focused at work. So, time for a songs post, songs that will help me get the weekend wriggles out and back into a Monday frame of mind. Just like when I tell my Sunday School kids “okay, we are going to have 30 seconds to shake the wriggles out, and then be serious”
It’s not terribly exciting, but I thought I might as well tell you so you aren’t sitting around going “What’s wrong? Why isn’t she posting?” It’s just because I’ve got a ton of errands that I’ve been putting off so I am driving around in The World, instead of sitting at home blogging.

Not unheard of late (somewhere we have pictures of me and my sister in snowsuits making a snowman in April), but still kind of late. In a sort of “I thought winter was wrapping up and now it feels like it is just getting started!” way. So I thought it would be a good time to re-post a list of summery songs I put together last year around this time. If you aren’t in the same temperate zone as me, feel free to bookmark this post for the next time you are stuck in the kind of grey days that feel like they will never end.
Not like a “mentor who is romantic” (that would be Shahrukh in Dear Zindagi) but as a mentor in the field of romance. He is not great at it, at least as shown in Dil Chahta Hai and, possibly, in this movie.
I may have mentioned this a few dozen times before, but Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are my all time favorite composers. They have been since I first heard the Lakshya album when I was 19. And they have a new album out!!!! Mirzya full songs are available on Saavn, which presumably means they are available on itunes, spotify, and all the other websites the kids these days use.
