Happy Monday before May Day! When most people will celebrate Labor, and my family will celebrate the pagan spring festival by giving away flowers (Mom can’t get real flowers this year so she is going to make them out of buttons and pipe stem cleaners). Anyway, a fun week!Continue reading
This should be divisive! Or, maybe not. My first reviews were divisive because they were pulling people who really liked the movie, but at this point it’s only going to be us DCIB regulars and I don’t think any of you were super super enamored? Oh, and fun thing about this review, I am combining the short review I wrote immediately which was flattering, with the SPOILER review I wrote after thinking for a day which was far more critical. So you can see my thought process develop over time, ooooo!Continue reading
Oh dear, I did not like this movie. I don’t like not liking movies, especially when I think that some of you might like them. Oh well.Continue reading
Yesterday I treated myself to a double bill, because I had the day off work and it’s super hot so I wanted movie theater air conditioning. This was a kind of random pick based on showtimes and the trailer looking cute. I don’t exactly regret watching it, but I’m also not super happy I did.Continue reading
Trailer time! I have to leave for work in 15 minutes, let’s see if I can write this up before then.Continue reading
I’ve been informed that this movie is getting crazy buzz, like “best film of the decade” buzz. Huh. I just don’t see it. It’s good, but it also has major flaws. If you saw it and want some help following the plots, or if you aren’t able to see it but want to know what happens, you can read this review. If you want to go in without knowing what will happen, you can read my other review. Or I guess if you didn’t like this movie, you should also read this review and see if I can articulate what bothered you, if perhaps it is the same thing that bothered me.Continue reading
Out of all the movies in the world, I picked this one. Because it started at 7pm, unlike all the other movies I wanted to watch which started at 10pm. It was fate!Continue reading
I LOVED this movie! This is going to be my new happy making comfort food film every time I get down. Everyone is happy and good and does good happy things and has good happy things happen to them. And even if something bad does happen, not to worry! You’ll just get another chance in your next life!
Happy Thursday! I wanted to watch a deep good classic interesting Tamil film, but none of those are streaming (Gautham Menon, what is up with your films? Why are they all in some kind of strange streaming rights limbo?). So instead I watched Theri. Which is……not deep. But oh so very very fun!!!!
I am getting more and more fond of Allu Arjun with every movie. He has this attitude like he is playing someone playing a movie hero, you know? It’s all just slightly exaggerated, and I love it.
I already put up the No Spoilers review, but I’m not even sure if those rules apply to this kind of movie. It’s based on a true story, and there aren’t really many surprises along the way. So you can read that review if you really hate spoilers, but otherwise you might as well read this review too. Although, fair warning, I also didn’t like this movie very much, so I may spoil it for you in a different way by making it no longer seem good.
Well, I saw it! And I did NOT like it. And then I went home to discover that Dog Hazel had gotten lonely and into the trash and eaten a bunch of stuff she shouldn’t. So all around, a failure of an evening.
Yaaaay! A super fun one inspired by Sonam’s Party of the Century wedding earlier this week. Wedding dresses! Combining both the full formal wedding sari, and the fun reception outfits, so we get two sets of dresses to gaze at.
I finally saw a Vikram movie! And my goodness, he is good! From what I can see, this isn’t a very good movie of his. But he is far far more entertaining even in this than the other actors I have seen.
