Yaaaaay! Another movie I didn’t really really review before this, and now I have an excuse to go back to it!

Shahrukh Birthday Countdown, Billu! Shahrukh Takes a Backseat to Irrfan Khan
Woo! Such a nice happy movie. A joy to talk about and think about. Also, great songs!
Continue readingHappy Birthday Lara Dutta!
Oh Lara! I like her. Not really sure why. I mean, there’s no reason to dislike her, but I don’t know enough about her to be able to justify why I like her so much.
Continue readingFriday Classic (on Saturday): Billu, Shahrukh’s Vision of the Lonely Star
Finally getting around to writing about this very interesting and important movie! I hope I am not the only one who finds it interesting and important.
Continue readingNRI Films Week: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, One of the Happiest and Most Realistic NRI Films
Happy anti-Independence Day week! As in, movies about folks happily living not in India without all kinds of patriotic angst.
Continue readingJhoom Barabar Jhoom: A Movie Both More and Less Realistic Than Usual
Yaaaay! One of my all time favorite movies! I really hope some of you like it enough to talk about it, or (even better) where inspired to watch it because I scheduled this post. It’s so good! And no one ever talks about it!
Friday Not-So-Classic: Elaan, Because I Am Feeling John Abraham
The beauty of this movie, is that I can write about it very quickly. Because it is not worth a lot of words. The other beauty of this movie, is that 2 of the most attractive men in Indian film are in it, and also Rahul Khanna. And the third beauty of this movie is that it is smart enough to know how dumb it is. The best kind of dumb movie. And anyway, I have a semi-tradition of writing about bad movies on Friday the 13th.
TGIF: Wedding Outfits!!!! Pick Your Favorites
Yaaaay! A super fun one inspired by Sonam’s Party of the Century wedding earlier this week. Wedding dresses! Combining both the full formal wedding sari, and the fun reception outfits, so we get two sets of dresses to gaze at.
Monday Morning Questions Post, Aiyaary Week (Finally)!
Happy Monday! I successfully finished my first week of heartworm treatment! Well, not “my” first week, the dog’s first week. But I’m the one who had to give her the pills and rub her sore legs and stuff. And now, the second week! In which if her heart rate goes up, she will DIE!!!! (or so the Vet impressed it upon me) Now, distract me from my overwhelming responsibilities by asking me questions. Oh, and answering mine, a follow up to last Monday.
Starter Kit: Actresses, Part 3, Soha to Lisa
I’m continuing to crank through the small time actresses, the ones who only need a few movies to fully understand their careers. Because it’s a lot easier than trying to deal with the male stars and their longer careers, or the handful of super successful actresses (sorry Rani! I’ll get to you someday!) (last small time actress post here)
Jhoom Barabar Jhoom: A Movie Both More and Less Realistic Than Usual
This is another one of those movies I like and no one else does. No one even asked me to put it on my to-do list, but I am doing it anyway, because I was traveling last week and need to write about something I know really well, even without re-watching it.
Fitoor Review: FanFic for Armchair Political Theorists (No Spoilers!)
I saw Fitoor! Opening night! There were, maybe, 20 other people in the theater! Not good. I’ll be curious to see how the box office shakes out. I’ll also be curious to read the reviews. Because I was expecting some subtle political statement, and oh my gosh! It’s just an anthropomorphized debate on the Kashmir Question!
