Happy Wednesday! Today I tuck away all my stuff so my friends’ can finish painting their apartment, and then drive to the lake house. I’m debating whether I want to come back into the city this weekend to finish off some stuff (mow the lawn, etc.) or if I want to just be out of town and not think about things for two weeks.

DCIB Book Club: Ms Marvel Vol. 3 “Crushed”, Chapter 3

Oh, this is SUCH a good chapter! It has a reasonable explanation for why immigrant parents want their children to marry within their culture, it has a subtle chauvinism contrasted with apparent chauvinism, and it has a teenage girl being so stupid you want to reach through the pages and shake her, but also you understand.

Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me on My Sister’s Birthday???

Happy Monday! Yesterday was my Mom’s birthday and we did a river tour of the city and then dinner in the cool little cocktail bar across from their new condo. And today is my sister’s birthday and, as usual, she will be doing whatever the little toddler dictator orders her to do (“Mommy UP! Mommy, CAH! Mommy STROLLER! Mommy More Milk!”).
