This isn’t going to be nearly as good as yesterday’s post, but then what could be? Anyway, let’s compare and contrast Shahrukh’s various smile options!

Misc Post: Interesting Trailer, Albie Dog Story, Funny Story About Me
I’m in the middle of 3 movies in 24 hours and I am way way too tired to write anything real (finished the last review last night at midnight, up at 6am for work). So this is a catchall whatever post in the meantime.
Continue readingDear Comrade Review (SPOILERS): An Overstuffed But Sweet Romance
So happy to be writing this review! This is one of those movies when I was just ITCHING to rewrite the script just a tad and fix all their problems. And now I get to do that in the review! Thank goodness.
Continue readingDear Comrade Review (No Spoilers): A Lovely Illogical Romance
I did it! A midweek movie! At a theater that doesn’t usually show Indian movies, and was still half full on a Thursday. So, woo-hoo Vijay Devaronda!!!! His career is growing by leaps and bounds.
Continue readingPakistani Week: Bachaana, a Silly Silly Film in Mauritius
What a fun silly movie! One of those nice “nothing really matters that much and we aren’t taking it seriously” kind of movies. Don’t watch it if you want high quality and deep thoughts, but it is super fun if you just want sunshine and silliness!
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Discussion Post: Which is Our Favorite Real Life Outfit?
You ready for tricky choices? We already discussed his best costumes, but which is his best real life outfit?
Continue readingCute Albie Dog Photos
We can pretend we are here for original analysis of media and sociological discussion, but let’s be real. We are actually here for cute dog photos.
Continue readingNews Round-Up: Stars and Box Office, Shahid and Sonakshi and Hrithik
Finally, some interesting news stories! Money and stars and interesting things like that, instead of more casting rumors and created controversies (blech!).
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Discussion Post: What Fictional Detective Do We Most Want Him to Play? Sherlock Holmes, Columbo, or Other?
Another lazy discussion post, but hopefully one that some of you can leap in and join the discussion. Shahrukh doesn’t really have a solid “mystery” in his filmography, and I think he would be great playing the detective role, especially now that he is too old to play the young hero.
Continue readingPakistani Week: Cake, a Movie Which Gives Us No Ending and No Beginning
What an interesting good film! So glad you all nagged me into watching it. And now I am turning around and nagging those of you who haven’t seen it yet to seek it out and watch it too.
Continue readingShahrukh Summer: Completely Silly Discussion Post, Which Classic Novel Hero Most Fits Shahrukh?
I was going to write a really good interesting post today, and then my work computer decided to reboot with updates for 2 hours which killed my writing time. So instead you have to be happy with this completely silly narrow casting post. For those of you who are passionately in love with classic English novels, and also Shahrukh.
Continue readingHappy Birthday Mukesh! A Dozen Reasons I Love You
I am trying to do more musician birthdays and this is a big big musician birthday, so time for me to try to figure out what I know about Mukesh and what’s most important.
Continue readingMonday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me the Week Judgemental Hai Kya and Arjun Patiala Releases?
Happy Monday!!! I had an exhausting weekend, and now I can relax and have a nice day at work.
Continue readingSilly Sunday FanFic: Sex and Power Plots for SRK
This is just total indulgence for me. As a thought experiment, I want to continue my discussion of sex and power and class from these two posts and see if I can come up with new SRK plot ideas that continue to explore them.
Continue readingPakistani Week/Sunday ReRun: Teefa in Trouble, My Favorite Pakistani Film
I don’t think anyone else loves this movie the way I love this movie. But I really really love this movie!
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Discussion Post: Battle of the Cameos! Which is Your Favorite?
You ready to prove your TruFan status? This is a “best of” post not for the weak or faint of heart. I’m not talking the full fledged small roles (Saathiya, Shakti, Hey Ram, etc.), I’m talking about the 5 minutes or less one scenes. Most people haven’t seen one of them, let alone all of them. Heck, I haven’t seen all his cameos! Just the ones listed below.
Continue readingPakistani Week: Humsafar Part 3, Episodes 15 through 23
Last section! The one were everything finally happens, and we get our nice ending.
Continue readingPakistani Week: Humsafar Day Part 2, Episodes 9-14
Second part! I realized when watching this series that it broke down neatly into three narrative sections, so my reviews reflect that.
Continue readingPakistani Week: Humsafar Day! Part 1, Episodes 1-8
I originally wrote this back when there was a little group of us all plowing through right after it was added to Netflix. Not sure if anyone knew has seen the show since then, but maybe the same old folks have had new thoughts. Or maybe this will inspire someone new to check it out.
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Thought Post: Sex, Power, and Romance
I had another thought! Well actually, Rachel had a thought on this post and I replied to it, and then I kept on thinking. Anyway, thoughts! About sex! And also power and romance.
Continue readingSaturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Go to a Wedding
Happy Saturday! I am out of town for a wedding, doing family stuff with family, but you all can still talk!
Continue readingPakistani Week: Balu Mahi, a Movie About a Runaway Bride Who Doesn’t Need a Man
Such a fun movie! I forgot how fun until I was reading this review. It has men in tiny underwear, women riding horses, and a great plot.
Continue readingTGIF: Cozy Pictures
It was just pouring rain here yesterday. In that “I cannot see out the window and the sun is not coming up” kind of way. Which is nice, because it has been bright hot sun for the past 3 days. So today the rain sort of felt cozy and nice. I just needed a nice Indian movie star to curl up with and watch the storm.
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Discussion Post: Why Has He Gotten Sexier as He Has Gotten Older?
You ready to put on your thinking caps? This is a question that has puzzled the global community for years, but I have faith in the power of crowdsourcing, I believe our team of experts can answer this underlying Question of the Universe. Just like genome code mapping.
Continue readingShahrukh Summer Friday Classic: Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Shahrukh as the Loser Protagonist
This is one of Shahrukh’s earliest roles, and one he consistently lists as a film and a performance he is most proud of. But, why?
