Okay, I am going to TRY to find a “larger theme” here, but I really doubt I will. But maybe! Fingers crossed! It can’t just be about neon clothes and lipliner.

Friday WatchAlong: Ajnabee! For Kareena! And 2000s Stupidity!
I am excited! I haven’t watched a good old classic early 2000s movie in ages, and even longer since I watched one I hadn’t seen before. I am ready to be entertained and surprised!
Continue readingBadal Review: Adorable Young Rani, Bonkers Plot, AWESOME Songs, All the Best of the 90s
Do you feel the need for a crazy nonsense plot, Rani being unbelievably cute, and Bobby Deol being a hilariously bad actor? This is the movie for you! Seriously, Bobby is falling off the couch laughing BAD.
Continue readingHair Discussion Post: Who Here Has Curly Hair and What Do You Do With It?
I feel the need for a total Happy Place kind of discussion, and “hair” is the best I can come up with at the moment. I mean, we all have it, right? And it’s fun to talk about, brag about, complain about, give and receive advice, and so on.
Continue readingClass of ’83 Review (SPOILERS): Stay for the Twist Ending
Well, the movie was fine, low budget and quick moving and all that. But the overall arc of the story was really interesting in a way that makes me want to read the book it is based on, because it doesn’t go quite the way you think it will.
Continue readingClass of ’83 Review (No Spoilers): Solid Netflix Level Movie
In my post about all the new movies hitting streaming, I picked this one out as one that was always planned for Netflix. And now I’ve seen it, and it really really feels like a movie that was always planned for Netflix.
Continue readingGupt! Kajol and Bobby and Manisha OH MY!
This is such an awesome bad-good movie! If you have the ability to watch it, and a high tolerance for 90s camp, I highly HIGHLY recommend it.
Continue readingHousefull 4 Review (SPOILERS): Everything Gets Better Once Rana Duggabatti Shows Up!
Yes, this silly silly movie that released weeks ago is getting the full no spoiler/spoiler review treatment from me. Whatever, I had fun with it! And you can watch it if you want once it hits streaming and then come back and read these reviews. Or if you already caught it in theaters, read this review to talk about your response to the complexities of the narrative.
Continue readingHousefull 4 Review (No Spoilers): Clever Meta Commentary on Historical Fiction, and Also Dumb Sex Jokes
This is exactly what I want from a Housefull movie. No surprises, nothing unexpected, and Akshay Kumar is continually humiliated and tortured.
Continue readingHindi Film 101: The Deol Family Part 3, Rise and Fall of the Deol Princes Sunny, Bobby, and Abhay
Oh Abhay and Bobby! So cute, so charming, so heartthrob-y. And then, suddenly, not. Time is a cruel master.
Continue readingNRI Week: Dostana, Friendship is Fun and Fabulous
This is a movie that is endlessly enjoyable, if you don’t expect it to be realistic. Or logical. Or smart. It’s just Fun.
Continue readingNRI Films Week: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, One of the Happiest and Most Realistic NRI Films
Happy anti-Independence Day week! As in, movies about folks happily living not in India without all kinds of patriotic angst.
Continue readingImportant Discussion Post! Which of These Videos is the Gayest?
I’ve narrowed it down to my top three, but I just can’t pick between them! They are all wonderful and I love them all in their unapologetic “the audience will never get this so we are just gonna go for it” over the top romance.
Continue readingWatch This Video and Tell Me I’m Not Crazy!!!!!
I put up this video as part of my Friendship Day post, and it got no comments, which makes me think either no one watched it, or it isn’t as remarkable as it feels to me. And I am going slowly insane trying to figure out which it is. Please! Watch and comment and tell me I’m not crazy!
Happy Friendship Day!!!!
Happy Friendship Day!!!!! And Kajol’s birthday, it’s a busy day. Anyway, here is a nice little video post with some friendship videos, and you can leap in with your suggestions for more in the comments.
Friday Classics: Badal! For Amrish Puri’s Birthday and Bobby in Race 3
Happy Friday! I’m feeling lazy after my very very very very long post on PC and SRK yesterday, so I am going to throw up a short post on a bad movie. My favorite kind of lazy post to write! And if you want to be a lazy reader, I highly recommend watching all the song videos instead of reading, because this movie has really GREAT songs. And a stupid plot.
Race 3 Review (SPOILERS): A Party Planned for Salman, and the Guest of Honor Didn’t Really Show Up
I’m back! I already put up the No Spoilers review which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the film. The plot is a total mess, so knowing spoilers won’t really change anything. This review is probably more helpful for people who have seen the film and are confused (as I was), than for people curious what the film is about. Bottomline is, it’s about nothing!
Race 3 Review (No Spoilers): I am Sincerely Worried About Salman Khan
Watched it! With an Eid audience, which was super fun. We were very under dressed, but we got to admire everyone else’s nice clothes.
News Round-Up: All About Salman! Karan and Salman Fall Out, Salman Pushes Bobby, Varun Follows Salman
Salman is everywhere today! Sometimes actually mentioned, sometimes just implied. I guess that’s fair, it is his Birthday Week after all.
Happy Birthday Dharmendra! A Dozen Reasons I Love You!
Happy Birthday to the Garam star, and continual winner of my TGIF posts! Here are a dozen reasons I love you (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Friday Not-So-Classic: Gupt! The “Secret” is, This is a Fun Movie!
I know I know, normally this is where I talk about a classic film. But it’s been a busy week, and I didn’t manage to watch anything fancy, and I don’t have the energy to talk about anything fancy, and Gupt was a the library. And it is SO AMUSING!!!! In an “amusingly bad” kind of delightful way.
