More Critiquing the Critics: What Artists Get Too Much/Not Enough Credit?

I quite enjoyed everyone’s responses to yesterday’s post asking what films were reviewed unfairly (and please keep adding on there if you remember more or this post reminds you of something!). Everyone gave delightful varied answers that went beyond saying “this film was good and they said it was bad” and instead into how exactly the film was misinterpreted and dismissed. Now, let’s do the same for artists! There are some actors and directors and composers that always get loads of critical acclaim and may not deserve it, and others that never get noticed and really should.

Summer songs on a Snowy Day

(This is an updated and re-written and edited reposted post from last year, because I am lazy and the weather is awful again)  If you are in the same general climate zone as me, you just got hit by a surprisingly large and late snowstorm.  Not unheard of late (somewhere we have pictures of me and my sister in snowsuits making a snowman in April), but still kind of late.  In a sort of “I thought winter was wrapping up and now it feels like it is just getting started!” way.  So I thought it would be a good time to re-post a list of summery songs I put together last year around this time.  If you aren’t in the same temperate zone as me, feel free to bookmark this post for the next time you are stuck in the kind of grey days that feel like they will never end.

Really Good Songs From Not Very Good Movies

Christmas is over, which is sad, but it means I have a lot of new presents to play with (check them all out here!), and it means I can go back to listening to Saavn and my Indian music instead of Christmas carols.  In early November, when I start my Christmas channels, it feels all refreshing to listen to White People Music (as I think of it) for a little bit.  But by December 26th, I am ready to go back to my Indian stuff.  And for my first playlist, I went with the theme of “good songs from not good movies.”
