Ugh, I did not like this movie. I did not like it so much that I couldn’t sleep last night. So I am writing this review on very little sleep, therefore very grumpy, and hating it even more than my last review when I compared it to vomit. What a fun read this will be for all of you!

Wedding Season Review (SPOILERS): Wait, Why Were They Fighting?
This is gonna be a pretty short review, not a lot to talk about Deeply. But I know a lot of us have already watched the movie and I wanted a place for us to chat without ruining things for the others.
Continue readingDarlings Review (SPOILERS): Too Much Dark. Not Enough Light, Makes Everything Muddy
Okay, Spoiler time!!! I already put up the No Spoilers review if you just want a quick idea of what the film is like to decide if it is for you. Now, SPOILERS!
Continue readingHeropanti 2 Review (SPOILERS): A Script that Could Have Been Saved By Acting, But Unfortunately It Is a Tara Sutaria Movie
UGH! This was so FRUSTRATING! In my No Spoilers review I talked about how it is like a bad 90s movie, but such a mess and without standardized character types and things that it wasn’t fun-bad, it was just confusing 2020s bad. Now, in the SPOILERS review, I get to talk about how if it had been cast with actors who had the charisma and charm and willingness to go all in that is required, it could have worked. But Tara Sutaria is where charm goes to die, and Tiger struggles with…..everything.
Continue reading’83 Review: Perfect Fan Cosplay of Every ’83 World Cup Cricket Match
I did it! I watched ’83! And I spent the whole time feeling like they are expecting me to have WAY more knowledge of Cricket than I actually have. Also, interest in.
Continue readingRRR Review (SPOILERS): A Happy Little Slice of Fictional History!
What a delightful movie this is! I am so excited to force all my friends to go see it with me! It’s totally ridiculous and happy and silly and entertaining.
Continue readingBadhai Do Review (SPOILERS): Love in All Colors of the Rainbow
What a lovely movie. Literally lovely, it is full of love. Love of every kind, except the kind we normally see, between a man and a woman.
Continue readingRadhe Shyam Review (SPOILERS): You Know the Way a 3 Year Old Tells a Story? With All the Pauses and Backtracks and Cul-De-Sacs? That’s This Movie
Here I am, trying to make this movie into some kind of logical narrative. A well-nigh impossible endeavor!
Continue readingGangubai Review (SPOILERS): Let’s Watch Alia Swear a Lot!
Welp, time for the spoilers review! Which won’t give you a heck of a lot more than the no spoilers review, because there isn’t really much of a beginning or an end to this story, it all is just sort of a goes along without a point.
Continue readingFame Game Alternative Ending Post/What We Want for Season 2!
Well that ending wasn’t….great. But good news! I think we can fix it if we just think it through a little bit.
Continue readingFame Game Last 2 Episodes! Spoilers and Whole Series Discussion
Well this was FASCINATING!!!! And I am sure I am going to continue to have thoughts over the next few days, especially as I discuss it with you.
Continue readingFame Game Episodes 5 and 6: All About the Kids, and then All About the Mothers
Okay, two episodes left and I still have NO idea what the ending will be! That is a sign of a very well constructed series.
Continue readingFame Game Episodes 3 and 4: Themes! Prostitution and Giving to Others
Huh, this series is surprising me with how good it is. I thought it was just gonna be a fluffy thriller with Madhuri at the middle, but it’s really digging deep on some interesting things. Also, seriously, even if you don’t watch the whole series, go 33 minutes into episode 4 and watch that scene. It’s no spoilers, it’s fine out of context, and it is just beautiful.
Continue readingThe Fame Game on Netflix Episode 1 and 2: Characters Introduced, Setting Established
Oh goodie! Let’s all watch together and discuss in episode pairs! It’s legitimately good too. Not Made in Heaven good, but closer to it than most other things. Plus, tons of in jokes for industry obsessed folks like on DCIB.
Continue readingShyam Singha Roy Review (SPOILERS): Great Movie! Lousy Framing Device
Well, this is a frustrating combo. A great movie stuffed inside a limp dull modern wrapping. If you have to watch it, it’s a definite start at the interval and skip the first have kind of film.
Continue readingPushpa Review (SPOILERS): The Plot Doesn’t Matter, the Characters Do
Oh boy, Spoiler section! For everyone else who’s already seen the movie like me and has Thoughts!
Continue readingChandigarh Kare Aashiqui Review (SPOILERS): A Love Story About A Very Strong Woman
What a surprisingly good movie! Not perfect, there’s a dodgey bit in the middle that I might fastfoward in future, but the rest of it is very VERY good. Especially Vaani’s performance.
Continue readingMinnal Murali Review (SPOILERS): A Hero and Villain Are Made By Small Choices
Yaaaaaay,. the spoilers review! So we can all talk about it in detail, and how much we liked it, and how clever it was.
Continue readingAtrangi Re Review (SPOILERS): Practically Unbelievable, Emotionally Real
Yaaaaay, a review of a new movie! That I really really liked!!! With people in it that I really really like, and also Akshay. Although here Akshay is reminding me why I used to like him.
Continue readingDiscussion Post on Family/Hum Do Humare Do Review (SPOILERS): Boring Movie, Excuse for an Interesting Discussion About What Defines Family Within Indian Film
Welp, not a great movie! I can describe the plot in about 3 sentences, no twists or surprises, and just not the best way to bring up the questions it wants to bring up. But I want to bring up those questions! So this is a review/discussion post.
Continue readingLittle Things Review/Spoilers: Final Episodes!!!! 7 and 8, Ends With a Whimper, Which is the Point
Ha! This whole thing turned out to be the same lesson my parents always told me, “you have to live together before you get married”. It’s TRUE!!!! You get through all the horrible messy angry stuff before you make that lifelong commitment and then you know you really want that lifelong commitment.
Continue readingLove Story Review (SPOILERS): Intersectionality, The Love Story
What a good movie! Yes, the end totally fell apart, but it bravely confronted all kinds of big scary issues along the way. Read on if you won’t have the chance to see it, are not interested in a romance film, or are interested but need to be spoiled first so you can relax and enjoy it.
Continue readingBhoot Police Review (SPOILERS): A Lot of Stuff Happens, But Nothing That Means Much
There’s really not much to spoil here. A lot happens, and yet I didn’t really care about any of it? And I suspect every viewer would feel the same way.
Continue readingMimi Review (SPOILERS): A Surrogacy Movie About Love
I am SO EXCITED to finally write this spoilers review so we can all gab together about this movie and the various slight oddities in it.
Continue readingToofan Review (SPOILERS): Let Us All Sympathize With the Poor Bigot! The Fragile Bigot! Who Cannot Handle New Ideas or He Will EXPLODE!!!!
It’s true, the movies have shown me. The old white man in America who has to painfully and carefully learn that, maybe, not all racism is good. Poor Lord Crawley in Downton Abbey who has to consider that maybe class distinctions are sometimes unfair. And of course all the Hindu patriarchs in Indian films who have to suffer being told that, sometimes, maybe, non-Hindus and women have a right to live.
