I skipped this episode when it first aired, because what do I care about cricket players? But then it turned into a whole “thing”, so I tracked down an illegal copy (since the legal copy has been pulled) so I could judge for myself.

Sorry sorry! I forgot. I was so focused on remembering to post the Jacobinte Swargarajyam review, I forgot about the regular Wednesday post. Plus, you know, weird week.

I loved Nivin Pauly in this, naturally (although I have reservations about his hair).  But I was surprised by how charismatic I found Renji Panicker, especially considering he just started acting a couple of years ago!

Have you noticed that I’ve been kind of off for the past week or so? I was sick, it was mostly that, but there was also other stuff going on. Which I want to share with you all, mostly in a kind of “Writing in order to process it” way. So, completely selfish. (don’t panic, I am still healthy and my parents are healthy and all of that is good. you can just ignore this post if you don’t want to read something sad, it’s not that important)

This is the first non-Rahman Tamil composer whose name I learned. Partly because it is a very memorable name (“Harris”) but also because his music is extremely good.

I am so excited about ELKD! Especially the more we get of the Anil/Juhi romance, because they are ADORABLE.

I love Fearless Nadia. She is my dream Halloween costume. And I could pull it off too! We look the same, same kind of build and blonde hair and blue eyes. I just have to put on a sari and carry a whip. But then everyone would think I am culturally appropriating and give me a hard time so I can’t. The world is hard.

Usually my Sunday ReRun’s are movies I’ve reviewed and I want you to watch. I do NOT want you to watch Sanju. I think it is stupid stupid stupid, and also bad. But Netflix keeps throwing it at me, so if it is throwing it at you too, I wanted to repost the review so you know why NOT to watch it, and can warn your friends off too. And anyway, isn’t it fun when I really hate a film and tear it apart?

I don’t know why I haven’t reviewed this one before, I love it very very much. Kajal Aggarwal is a delight, Ajay is Peak Ajay, and the police uniforms leave nothing to the imagination (the best kind of uniform). Oh, and it’s on Netflix!

This is a suggestion from BollywoodNewbie/Alisa, which I am going to steal so long as I am still hacking my lungs out and unable to do “real” posts. What are the best songs for moving along a film narrative? Helping us understand the characters and situations better, not just creating a random unrelated moment? Or, to put it another way, what are songs that make you go “I really liked that, and now I want to know what else happens in the film”. And then you watch the film and aren’t disappointed, because the song accurately described what happened during part of the movie.
