Such an exciting weekend! I scheduled a last minute KKHH watch late late late on Saturday, and then I changed the proposed time of this morning’s viewing from 7am Chicago time to 10am Chicago time. And this one was scheduled a bit last minute too. Oh well, hopefully I still get people to join! Who doesn’t love SOTY2?

Happy Birthday Karan! For Your Birthday, A Discussion Post for Us All to Say Nice Things
It’s Karan’s birthday! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! And I thought it would be nice for us to celebrate by saying all the nice things we can think of about him.
Continue readingMonday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me on Memorial Day in America?
Happy Monday! I don’t have to work today, yaaaaaaaaaaaaay! For weird reasons related to American history, we all have a holiday here that no one else in the world gets.
Continue readingEid Mubarak!!!!
Oops, almost missed this! And I guess now I know why there have been fireworks going off in my neighborhood all evening.
Continue readingHindi Film 101: Karan Johar, Self-Hate Hidden Behind Pretend Self-Love
It’s Karan Johar’s birthday week! So what better time to finally do a 101 on him? 101s on living active people are always tricky, because if people are alive, they change. But I will do my best by Karan as he is right now and we will see if I need to do an update later.
Continue readingSilly Sunday: Elaine May Movie’s Remade! A New Leaf, Tootsie, and Ishtar
My parents and I had a little Elaine May mini-fest last week, and I fell in love with her funny but ultimately loving sort of comic touch. And now I want to rewrite and recast all her movies for India! Because it makes me happy. Even if no one reads this post.
Continue readingWatch SOTY2 Here in 24 Hours!!!!
Special holiday watchalong! I’ve got Monday off here in America, so I am scheduling a special watchalong that hopefully can hit up some of the people who can’t make the usual Friday afternoon time. Also, it’s Karan’s birthday! So we have to do a Dharma film.
Continue readingWatch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Right Here in Half an Hour!!!!
I may have totally messed this up by scheduling it very last minute, and then moving the start time an hour and a half earlier, and scheduling it on a half hour just to confuse people. But I hope this post helps. The conversation will be here, in the comments on this post, in half an hour (10:30pm Chicago time). Hope to see you here!
Continue readingWatch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai With Me in 3.5 Hours!!!!
No idea if this will work, but why not! I’ll be awake, I love Kuch Kuch, if you are also awake and love KKHH, you should watch it with me. And if you live in international zones, I may possible send you an email to make sure you see the scheduling. Not in a creepy way (I hope), but in a helpful way.
Continue readingIf I Watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai at Midnight Chicago Time Tonight, Could Anyone Join Me?
I’m having a weird weekend/day, and I’m thinking about staying up very late tonight (plus thunderstorms tonight which are going to keep me up late). Most importantly, I just learned Popka has never seen KKHH!!!! Can you imagine?????
Continue readingKaran Johar Week: Let’s Rank Karan Johar Songs!
Woo-hoo! Karan Johar songs! The perfect happy escape. And not an over-whelming number of them either, so I think we can rank them all, don’t you? Especially because I am removing My Name is Khan since I don’t like throwing something that real in with the other stuff, feels disrespectful to victims of hate crimes, you know? So, Karan Johar songs, but with MNIK removed!
Continue readingSaturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Figure Out My Life
Happy Saturday! I am back in my apartment for the first time in two and a half weeks, trying to figure out what I want to do with it. The answer could very well be “nothing”, but it does feel like I should be doing SOMETHING so long as I am staying at my parents most of the time. Like at the very least reorganize my books since I won’t care about having piles of them everywhere.
Continue readingGood Night, Dreams Brought to You By Karan Johar
Welcome to the start of a very abbreviated Karan Johar week. Karan has given us so many dreams.
Continue readingBonus WatchAlong! 7am Chicago time Monday (8am EST, evening in Europe and Australia and Japan)
Okay, this means the people who wanted to participate from the east coast of America will have to wake up a wee bit early. But our global friends have suffered enough with our Friday afternoon time! Let them have the nicer schedule!
Continue readingFriday WatchAlong! Befikre for Aditya Chopra! It’s Better Than You Think!
Unless you think it is a brilliant perfect movie. Then it may not be better than you think, because it is definitely not perfect. But it is way better than reviews say!
Continue readingTwo Groundbreaking Videos! Gulabo Sitabo Trailer, and Gautham Menon Mini-Film!
Two videos that we should look at both for content, and context. Since they are both “disrupting” the industry.
Continue readingTGIF: Rank Aditya Chopra’s Male Leads in Order of Sexiness
A vital question! And yes, I am including the 3 younger men from Mohabbatein, just to make it a little more complex.
Continue readingGood Night! Dream of Dancing
The last Good Night of Aditya Chopra week. So sad. Luckily, we move right into Karan Johar week.
Continue readingAditya Chopra Week: Rank The Most Romantic Moments of His 4 Movies!!!!!
This is really just a battle for the top between Rab Ne and DDLJ, but I am throwing in Befikre and Mohabbatein too just so they don’t feel left out.
Continue readingFriday WatchAlong: Watch Befikre Here in 24 Hours!!!!
And Befikre is the winner! I was strongly tempted by Mohabbatein but then I got a couple of people who said “I absolutely will not watch that movie”, so Befikre won.
Continue readingHappy Birthday Mohanlal! My Favorite Movie of Yours, Namukku Parkkan Munthirithoppukal
This is such a lovely movie. Poor quality, the only copy available seems to be a bit deteriorated. But you can still feel the reality of the beauty of the world around them. And most of all, the story is so beautiful, hope and love over terrible damage.
Continue readingAditya Chopra Week! Rank Aditya’s Heroes in Terms of Originality of Character!
Albie Dog has decided his new morning routine is to have breakfast, and then pee on the floor. The first time it happened was absolutely my fault, I skipped a walk and he was desperate. But I think his doggie brain then went “hey, this is a good system, I should keep doing this”. Anyway, I had an unpleasant start to the day and now want to think about pleasant things as a distraction. So, Aditya Chopra’s Heroes!
Continue readingAditya Chopra Week! Adi’s Men, Flawed But Not Fragile
Thank you Kainaat! And SRK, of course. Kainaat quoted SRK describing Adi as someone who writes movies about men while his father wrote movies about women, and that started me thinking a whole thing.
Continue readingGood Night, Have Colorful Dreams From the Last Movie Aditya Chopra Wrote
Not the last one he will ever write, just that at this moment this is the most recent one he has written.
Continue readingEk Villain Review: Have You Ever Wondered What a Gritty Korean Horror Movie Crossed With an Idealistic Romance Would Look Like?
Thank you Angie for suggesting this! This movie is the perfect film to review quickly without needing to rewatch it. Because it is so slight and light, no need to rewatch. But still good enough I don’t mind reviewing! The sweet spot!
