Thank you Angie for suggesting this! This movie is the perfect film to review quickly without needing to rewatch it. Because it is so slight and light, no need to rewatch. But still good enough I don’t mind reviewing! The sweet spot!Continue reading
You ready for a challenge? I’m gonna pull out every big Varun dance song I can remember, and we have to rank them! Or at least, pick the one you love best (for those of you who don’t care as much).Continue reading
I already did “not very famous”, but this is something slightly different. These people may or may not be famous, and they have no talent, but we like them anyway. Why???Continue reading
Baaghi 3 looks very bleak and angry and violent. Baaghi 1, surprisingly not any of those things! Just a happy love story, with a bit of a love triangle on top of it, that leads to a lengthy martial arts (not guns) ending fight scene.Continue reading
I’m home, I’m eating oreos in my PJs, it’s time to treat myself to writing fanfic. Woo-hoo! Margaret Party Time!Continue reading
Well, that was a better movie than I expected! Not super duper great, but enjoyable and pleasant and well made with a very nice message. About a billion times better than Mission Mangal, for instance. And thus, deserving of a Sunday rerun post for those of you who missed it. Especially when Street Dancer 3D has us feeling all warm about Shraddha Kapoor.Continue reading
Plot? Whoooooooo cares???? It’s all about the lights and the glamour and the big flippy things and so on. So read this review, you will still want to see the film anyway. Or not want to see the film if you are a hopelessly practical person who has no love for dance battles and learning lessons and that moment when the power goes out and there is no music but then magically they create their OWN music!!!! Also, the plot is hilarious so read my summary for the giggles.Continue reading
If you think this is the kind of movie for you, it is. If you don’t think this is the kind of movie for you, it isn’t. There are no surprises here, it is exactly as promised.Continue reading
Personally, I think I land on Fun/Bad. But go into it with an awareness that it might just land on “bad” for you.Continue reading
I really really like the message of this movie! And it is a message that the trailers and advertisements for some reason didn’t make clear. I’m gonna spoil it in this post, but I honestly think that being spoiled might make you more interested in watching the film than going in unspoiled. But, you know, you do you! Read this review if you want to remain unspoiled.Continue reading
Honestly, doesn’t matter if you read the spoilers or not. Might even help you enjoy the film more if you can follow the plot in advance. Although there is also something to be said for enjoying twists and seeing if you can guess them in advance of the reveal. If you like twists and stuff, read this review. If you get confused by twists and want the summary in advance so you can follow the plot, you can keep reading.Continue reading
Well, that was ridiculous stupid fun! If you like explosions, love songs at famous tourist attractions, and lots of whistle worthy dialogues, this is for you. If you don’t…then what are you doing watching movies? Go off and read a book or something!Continue reading
Those aitches are going to kill me in Chhichhore, I will never be able to spell it correctly. On the other hand, Dream Girl is a breeze! Purely for my spelling abilities, I wish all movies had English titles.Continue reading
Well, we have a song that openly imitates every other club song ever, and a trailer that openly imitates every space movie ever. Hurrah for Indian ingeniuity (I’m grumpy this morning).Continue reading
What a lovely thing to wake up to! And now I get to share it with you all. Most important thing to know, SUBTITLES! Even on the little teaser, even just as it is released. I am now in love with these producers.Read more
Fun movie, funny movie, intricate movie. I am really looking forward to digging up how it was put together! And I am really really looking forward to all of you helping me understand the ending. Oh, and if you haven’t seen it, get over to my No Spoilers review instead! You should read it anyway, because that’s where I talk about performances and stuff.
What a fun movie! I don’t totally love it as much as I totally love A Gentleman, but it is in the same family of humor. So I am going to take this moment, once again, to plug A Gentleman. If you like this movie, you will like that one! Oh, and you probably will like this movie. It is very likable.
Quick one today, nothing super exciting, but some fun stuff to think about and maybe for you all to talk about.
Well, this is just an orgy of nepotism today! Some good, some bad, some boring. Anyway, trailers!
Trailer time! All of this are old and late, but I don’t care, I still want to hear what you have to say about them.
This is partly based on a joking back and forth I had with my friend, partly based on a news story Asmita linked to in the comments, and partly based on everyone’s least favorite “actress”, Shraddha Kapoor.
Well, it finally got approved. And I kind of agree with everything the Censors did. At least, as it is presented by them and the spin they are putting on it. I am sure there are all kinds of political realities on the ground that I am missing which makes them not so great. Oh, and I think we can aaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllll agree that swapping Vaani for Shraddha is a disaster of epic proportions.
I’m continuing to crank through the small time actresses, the ones who only need a few movies to fully understand their careers. Because it’s a lot easier than trying to deal with the male stars and their longer careers, or the handful of super successful actresses (sorry Rani! I’ll get to you someday!) (last small time actress post here)
Yay, more rom-coms! 2016 was the year of serious patriotic historical dramas, but 2017 is looking decidedly more romantic. Romantic and dramatic, none of that lightweight stuff like Befikre. Which means I am watching these trailers going “wait, is something terrible going to happen or is this just a humorous misunderstanding?”
