Continue readingI suddenly got one of my random Kannathil Muthamittal urges last night, and it made me think that I haven’t done a ten ugly crying films post yet. Of course, ugly crying is a deeply personal thing, so these are my ten, but they won’t necessarily be yours. Feel free to share your particular triggers in the comments! Oh, and they are almost all Hindi, but that’s just a coincidence, don’t feel limited by that.
No, that title isn’t a typo. It was promoted as a father-son story, but there’s another layer to it. Oh, and it’s still worth watching even if you read the SPOILERS review just for the performances, but the plot will have more impact if you go in fresh. So, read the “no spoilers” review instead if you can!
I just did a long thoughtful factual historical post, which no one will read. So I will try to balance it with a fun silly post, and we will see how that does.
Grandpa turns 96 today! We are celebrating with a small dinner at a nice restaurant with just the 4 of us (Mom, Dad, me, and Grandpa). We had a whole big family thing last year for 95, but this year we get to be more lowkey. However, I do feel like I should do SOMETHING, and so I am getting him this lovely blog post. That he will probably not read. But oh well, I know it’s there.
Okay, I finally gave in and actually clicked on one of those articles about the Tata Company implosion. And then I had to go back to my old friend wikipedia to confirm what I thought I remembered, that this is all a bit of a family feud. And yep! Everyone is related! MESSY!
Happy Birthday again Hema Malini! I got all the way through Seeta Aur Geeta in my first post, which is barely into your career, but it did get me over a 3rd of the way through your life (so far).
