Happy Friday! I have SUCH a busy day today, everything from getting a skin cancer full body check from a dermatologist (I’m just being pro-active, nothing to worry about. But be proud of me!), to buying boots, to returning a $10 item to Best Buy that is going to take me over an hour to drive there and back. But TEN DOLLARS! Anyway, wait for my “And Play” comment this week, just in case I am running a little late.

Friday WatchAlong: Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna! For the COATS! Tomorrow Afternoon at 3pm Chicago Time
Yes! We are doing KANK!!!! You can’t stop me! Well, you can stop me by just refusing to show up, but that would be mean.

Happy Sunday!!!! Our first Sunday watchalong in a while. In honor of Rachel’s birthday. And in honor of me FINALLY getting someone to watch Kabhi Alvida na Kehna with me.
Continue readingSunday WatchAlong: 10am Chicago Time on Sunday, We Are Watching Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna!!!
It’s Rachel’s birthday weekend, so we are doing a Pacific Time Friendly start time, AND we are finally watching KANK because Rachel is one of the other people besides me who finds it interesting and not hateful.
Continue readingShahrukh Birthday Countdown, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna! My First Review Reposted
I think I chose to talk mostly about Preity’s character in this review, which is interesting enough of a conversation to have. There is just so much in this film!
Continue readingShahrukh Birthday Month Re-Review, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna!
I just reread my original review, and it was quite good, but there are so many other interesting points to discuss that I didn’t even touch upon! I’m excited!
Continue readingHappiness Post: Match These Animal Pets With the Proper Famous Movie Character
There is no right answer! I am just listing out characters and cute animal photos, I have no pairings already in mind. It is up to you all to figure out who should go with who.
Continue readingWhat Movie Should We Watch on Friday? Don 2, Jhankaar Beats, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Dil Dhadakne Do, Something Else?
Yaaaaaaaay, Friday Watchalong!!!!!!!! It’s like I am doing something, but I don’t have to get out of bed!
Continue readingWhat Friday Movie Should We Watch for Amitabh Love?
We don’t have to forget Katrina either! One of her best early performances was, coincidentally, in an Amitabh movie. No, not Boom.
Continue reading4th of July Post: Karan Johar’s American Quodology, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Dostana, My Name is Khan
This is going to be a shallow dive. But should still be interesting, even if I just skim the surface of the topic.
Continue readingKaran Johar Coda: What Would Happen in Karan Johar Movies if Women Were Brave Enough to Say What They Think?
You thought we were done with Karan Johar, didn’t you? But no! I have one more thing to say that occurred to me while we were doing our Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham watch. And this thing will also, once again, give me a chance to rewrite the endings of Karan Johar movies which is my favorite thing of course.
Continue readingKaran Johar and Parents: Is It All About Love, or Is It All About Making Them Happy at the Expense of Yourself?
This is more of a thought experiment post. I want to try looking at all of Karan’s films through the lens of parenting, specifically BAD parenting, and see what we come up with.
Continue readingKaran Johar Week Discussion Post: Which is His Sexiest Couple?
We discovered last week that Aditya Chopra doesn’t actually do “sexy” well. But, in contrast, I think Karan really REALLY does. Question is, which is his best sexiest pairing?
Continue readingDiscussion Post: Which Movie Mothers Do You Most LIKE???
I feel we need to be fair to motherhood, after yesterday’s post asking which one you least like, we need to include ones you DO like and why.
Continue readingDiscussion Post: Who Would Be Your Favorite Fictional Couple Friends?
We already did “real” couple friends, these are fictional couples! The pretend people in movies that, after the movie is over and they get married and move into the house down the street from you, you might want to befriend.
Continue readingValentine’s Week of Sex Poll Post: Vote Now! Pre or Post Coital Scenes, Which Are Better?
I was going to do just straight sex scene sequences versus each other, but then I decided to go broader.
Continue readingTo Celebrate the End of Shahrukh Month, Shahrukh Movies Re-Written Without Shahrukh (Yes, a romance for Rani and Kajol in KKHH)
Oh boy, a totally indulgent post! I love writing fanfic, and I am having a lazy happy evening with my dog. Don’t care if none of you read this (well, I care a little bit. It makes me really happy when you comment on my fanfic, especially with your own ideas), this will just be happy for ME.
Continue readingShahrukh Summer: Choose Your Own Ending! Which Of these Alternate Endings Do You Prefer for Dear Zindagi, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Zero?
This isn’t a “fixing” the movie post. Maybe you think they are okay as they are. But if you HAD to choose an alternative ending, which one of these would you pick?
Continue readingShahrukh Summer: Discussion Space, How Would We Fix Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna?
Fun fun! Emily and I started kicking this around yesterday, and I thought why not put it out for all of us to talk about?
Continue readingValentine’s Day Ranking Post! Hottest to Least Hot SRK Character
The best to worst romance films post was hard, you ready for a real challenge? Hottest to least hot SRK. Can you accept this challenge of objective judgments?
Continue readingHappy Teacher’s Day! (In India)
Okay, how many Teacher’s Days ARE there?!?!? I already did the American/International Teacher’s Day, and Guru Purnima (click the links if you feel the need to review former teacher songs), and now there’s ANOTHER Teacher’s Day? Just for India? Thank goodness there are so many teacher songs! (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Quick Discussion Post: Multi-starrers, how do we rank the heroes as potential husbands? Amar Akbar Anthony to Kabhi Alveda Na Kehna
It’s Monday, I feel the need for a distraction from work. And anonymous and I have just been discussing an important issue that I feel deserves the full attention of us all: Is Jimmy Shergill or Jugal Hansraj better in Mohabbatein? And, on the other end, is Uday Chopra or Amitabh worse? This made me realize that we really need to hash this out for multiple films.
Silly Sunday: Karan Johar Sequels, Part 2!!!! Kal Ho Na Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alveda Na Kehna Na Kehna, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Again, and Student of the Decade
I got very excited by this idea. A few of these are reposts, but the really long ones are original, written just for today. Which is why I had to do two parts, because this is much much much too long.
Inspirational Songs! Just in Case You Need Inspiring
Mrs. Perfect mentioned that she is struggling with the agony of college decisions. And it is also the end of exam season in India (I still don’t understand this concept, but I will accept that it exists). Time for inspiring “Go and succeed and work hard and have a new challenge!!!!” post!
Friday Classics: For Preity’s Birthday Week, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Her Most Interesting Role
Happy Friday! I think this can legitimately be considered a classic, don’t you? Not a perfect movie, but one that is also a little bit better and a little more interesting, and a little more memorable, than the run of the mill films. And anyway, it’s Preity’s birthday week.
