I’m not gonna deal with the bigger “message” part of the films, just the minor irritation of all the horrible parts of watching them. Oh, or movies that DCIB would never really love or pay attention to (Manikarnia who?). But of the movies that in theory we might have enjoyed, and which we saw or at least saw the trailers, which of these is worst?

Box Office Report: Raid Finds the Hidden Money
Box Office! I’m back! After several weeks away. I missed the Pari reports, but now I am back because I am so curious about how Raid did. (as always, figures from renttrack by way of bollywoodhungama)
Box Office: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety Ki Money!!!!!
Well, this was interesting. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety won the weekend on only 66 screens easily beating Padman and Padmavat (at least, this week). (figures as always courtesy of Rentrack by way of Bollywoodhungama)
Box Office Youtube Video (no dog, but new scarf!)
Boring box office week, boring video. But I do get to wear my nice new scarf, so that’s something. Oh, and no dog, but if you need dog in your videos, check out this one.
Box Office: Aiyaary and Australia, a Match Made in Heaven
Box office day! Yaaaaay! And there is a lot in the mix this week, Padman still playing and Aiyaary came out and Padmavat is limping to a conclusion. (numbers as always from rentrack by way of bollywoodhungama)
Box Office: Padman Floods Theaters
This is an interesting week! Two movies on way more screens than I expected, and one on way less. Although the per screen total is about what I expected for all of them. (as always, figures from rentrack by way of bollywoodhungama)
Padman Review (SPOILERS): Three Versions of a Story, Real and Book and Film
I already posted my “no spoilers” review, and you might want to read that instead of this one, even if you are familiar with the “real” story, because the movie takes some interesting liberties with it.
Padman Review (No Spoilers): This is the Akshay Kumar Female Hygiene Film to Watch, if You Watch Only One
I braved the snow, a huge traffic jam, and using my moviepass card for the first time (it worked! Like a little miracle) all so I could see this movie. And it wasn’t half bad! As a movie. As a “message” or as a version of the true story, it could have been improved, but as a movie it was a nice solid film.
News Round-Up: Padmavat and Other Upcoming Movies
Let’s see if I have time to write this before I have to leave for work! But there are enough exciting things happening, I want to get it up and out there.
News Round-Up: Emraan and Ajay and Mouni Have New Movies, Censor Board Still Has Issues, Everyone’s Got Scheduling Issues
More news!!!! Yaaaaaay! Lots of little things that are interesting to keep an eye on and see how they pan out. And of course Padmavat, the story that will never die.
New Youtube Video! Padmavati Versus Padman, the Effects
Yet another video! Which I filmed a few days back but didn’t want to overwhelm The Internet with videos, so I held off on posting it. It’s the video version of this post.
Padmavat/Padman Update: Does Bhansali Just Not Care About the Rest of the Industry?
Well, it has been officially confirmed for like 24 hours now that Padmavat is now releasing Republic Day, meaning a clash with Padman. And, like every other business decision related to this movie, I think this is idiotic and a sign that no one involved has a lick of common sense and is running their movie into the ground. And the rest of the Hindi film industry along with it.
Padman Trailer: Mansplaining Menstruation
Remember how I was so sick yesterday I had to put up rerun posts? Keep that in mind, it may have made me a bit irritable.
News Round-Up: Abhishek Update, Padman and Sony, Sanjay Khan and Scandal, Shahid Kapoor and Comedy, Padmavati
Okay, I am going to try to catch up on every interesting news story over the past few days in one big post! Some of these will be pretty short updates. Also, be warned, I haven’t had breakfast and the Padmavati news is irritating me, so I am in a pretty bad mood about all of these stories with no time to be diplomatic about how I address them.
