I am probably going to be busy at work again today, and I will definitely be sleepy because I woke up at 5am for no reason, so I am going to put up a post that will give me something interesting to read (I hope) while I try to stay awake and field phone calls. Now, are you smiling? Are you happy? Are you remembering good times? Or are you rolling your eyes because these are all stupid worthless fluff films? If you are one of the first people, this is the film for you (and also, we should be friends). If you are one of the second people, this is not the film for you (and we can still be friends, but maybe should only watch classic movies together not new stuff) (spoilers review here)
That sounds a bit gruesome, I don’t mean we should chop him up into 20 pieces. I just mean 20 images of 20 different body parts. Which is a totally sane thing to collect and consider. This is very complicated, scheduling around Diwali and Shahrukh’s birthday. My regular schedule is just going to be completely thrown off. So, random Tashan review going up on 11/1.
Think of this as holiday scheduling. The Diwali releases are going to be so over-whelming, I may end up watching multiple non-Hindi films in theaters. And to make time for that, I am going to throw in a Hindi review on my usual Southern Review day earlier in the week. So I will review BBB next Monday, 10/29.
Happy Wednesday Shahrukh Review day! Aw, only one left after this. That’s sad. But, it has given me a chance to crank through some of his films that I hadn’t gotten around to addressing before.
What a trailer-riffic day today! I guess everyone is putting stuff out now before Diwali when we still have time to focus on it.

I finally watched it! What a delightfully silly inconsequential movie. There is no real “reason” to watch it, besides it just making you smile. Oh, and yes, as I was told, Prabhas’ rough voice saying “darling” is indeed addictive and delightful.
You know how it is wrong to objectify people and think of them as only their outer surface and blah blah? Put a pin in that for a second and try to forget it, we are going to vote on who has the best body between Shahrukh and Prabhas! Top to bottom, piece by piece.
Well, another “teaser” is out. I’m not even sure it is long enough to qualify as a teaser. I’m not sure what exactly this is. Oh well, Happy Birthday Prabhas and all that, I guess they felt like they should get him something even if they had to kind of scrunge around in the back of the closet to throw it together.
This came up in a conversation with Niki in the comments a week or so ago, the difficulty of when a fantasy is too real, too close to reality, not the hero part of it that I already discussed, but the situations, the life that the heroine is leading. And it made me think, is that why Indian films are so consciously unrealistic in certain ways?
My big sister told me something last night which shocked me to the CORE and changed everything I always thought was true. I still haven’t recovered, so I think I need to do a post about it.
First, I did not miss yesterday even if you think I did!!!! I wrote a brilliant beautiful wonderful fanfic that more people should read. Shahrukh and Irrfan fall in love, it’s delightful. And now I am back to a nice little discussion post.
Yes, I am still feeling guilty about that. I am sure I will get over it someday, probably sometime after I stop feeling guilty for not watching Dhadhak. Oh well, I always have to feel guilty about something, might as well be this.
