The 90s! Gave us so many great smile inducing photos!!!! With silly silly people in silly silly clothes. Which is good, because I am STILL GRUMPY. Hopefully HAHK this afternoon will cheer me up. If not, I am going to have to wait until NEXT MONTH which is the soonest that the sun is supposed to be out again in Chicago.

Valentine’s 90s Week of Romance: I Am Super Grumpy and I Am Going to Complain About Jerry Maguire (and a little Ranbir), and A Lot a Bit MEN!!!!!

The world is a bleak and horrible place filled with no sun and snowdrifts, it’s super unfair that I have to do work-work in the living room instead of continuing to sleep in my nice warm bed, and I don’t want to walk the dog. And you know whose fault that is? MEN! White Old Rich Men!!!! In some way I am not clear on, but I know I am mad about it. I’m gonna talk about how Tom Cruise/Cameron Crowe are terrible people who think they are good. Oh, and don’t bother actually watching Jerry Maguire before reading this post, I will tell you everything you need to know.

90s Week Friday WatchAlong!!! Dil To Pagal Hai or Hum Aapke Hain Koun? Fight For Your Fav!!!!

I already decided we are doing Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning, because the big concern with Friday afternoon is folks having to come late. And these movies are so loooooooooong, doesn’t matter! Also, we’ve done Saturday a lot lately and it feels unfair to Friday, you know? Poor day of the week getting jealous.

90s Week of Romance: Best Jodi! Aamir-Juhi, Kajol-Ajay, Kajol-SRK, SRK-Juhi, Madhuri-Salman, Madhuri-Anil, Karisma-Salman, Saif-Akshay, Govinda….?

I put in that Govinda one just to make Popka happy. But now she has to tell us who would be the Govinda jodi person, because I don’t know.

90s Week of Romance: Best Hindi Love Song of the 90s, “Tujhe Dekho” or “Pehla Pehla Pyar” or “Khandala”????

A challenge!!!!! Which will be well-nigh impossible! At least, it would be for me. All 3 Khans had amazingly iconic love songs in this era, with adorable spectacular co-stars and forever hit tunes and so on and so forth. But which is BEST? And I guess also which is worst, and which is middlest.

Monday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me VALENTINE’S WEEK???

Happy Monday!!! Happy Valentine’s Week!!!! So exciting! I mailed most of my cards weeks ago, plus my special Valentine’s gift for my nephew, and yesterday I hand delivered a combo Valentine’s/new cat present, the last card that I will hand deliver day of to make it special. I have heard some people treat Valentine’s as a holiday between romantic couples, but I think that is crazy. I treat it as a “time to send nice presents/cards to everyone and anyone who is important in my life”.

Valentines 90s Week of Romance!!! Sleepless in Seattle and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the Same Story Told Different

Woot! It’s 90s week!!!! Gotta start with the two most significant romances of the 90s, Sleepless in Seattle and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Yes, HAHK and DDLJ were more important films in general, and When Harry Met Sally is more influential, but these two movies were the biggest romantic hits of the decade, the ones that you pull out when you just want to swoon over love and not worry about anything else.

Discussion Post: What Is Your Favorite Children’s Series (If You Tell Me, I May Review it!)?

I don’t know about you, but I pretty much only read children’s books. And romances and mysteries. I minored in English in college and read a fair number of “real” books, and then I graduated and could read whatever I wanted and decided that about age 14 is the reading level that makes me happy. Reading should be fun! I don’t want to read An Unsuitable Boy, I want to read Betsy-Tacy! Anyway, tell me your favorite children’s books that you read as a kid/read to your kids/read now as an adult because reading has no rules.

Saturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I Try to Stay Warm/Cool

Happy Saturday! This comes to you from “America’s Vast Frozen Middle”. That was a headline in the BBC or something years ago and it always makes me giggle because YES! My vast American middle is frozen!!!! That’s why I put Albie Dog on my lap so much.

It’s Abhishek’s Birthday! Which of These 3 Talents He Posesses is Your Favorite?

Abhi Baby!!!! Surprisingly undervalued, but also seems to kind of like it like that. He struggled in his father’s shadow as a young man, but has matured into understanding the value of being overlooked and allowed to do his own thing. And he is very very good at doing his own thing.
