In films that is. In real life there are plenty of them too, but let’s limit ourselves to films. The Dad’s who say “hey, my daughter is something different, and I love that about her”.Continue reading
This movie is so good! And interesting! And unique! And Sonakshi is amazing in it. Seriously, you should all watch it. And maybe not read this review, because it is crazy long.Continue reading
Happy Birthday Sonakshi Sinha!!!!!! Turning 33 today, wow! Did not realize she was that old. I guess it is because she has such a fun bubbly youthful spirit.Continue reading
This movie was so interesting! It really is just a southern action movie with the hero turned into a heroine. But at the same time, there were all of these things that are so specific to the female experience, and I just have to wonder, did the director look at them and think “Hey! I should remake this with a female star!” Or, were they added in when the hero became a woman?Continue reading
Ready for a thought post? Of course you are! Thought posts are the best! Or at least, I like them.Continue reading
This is NOT “Ten Feminist Films”, because that’s a wee bit subjective. And it’s also NOT “Top Ten”, because that’s a way bit subjective. Instead, these are just ten films that bring up interesting discussions around gender. If you ever want to have a real downer of a movie night, you can show these and then make people discuss. Feel free to add on your own options both for films and discussion questions in the comments!!

It’s the Hrithik story that really delights me, and so long as I am writing about that, I thought I might as well hit some others.
As I said in my review, I really really liked Akira. So I am delighted to hear that the box office is picking up a little! Almost as delighted about confirmation for the Amitabh and Aamir rumor. The Sonam news, on the other hand, not so great.

Lots of fun little things today. Well, some fun, some stressful. But mostly fun! And also nostalgic.
Yay! There is a real poster for Dangal! Not just that strange Aamir coming out of the dirt thing we got months ago. And it looks strangely Disney. Oh, and also a trailer for Akira, which does NOT look Disney.
