Happy Fan Day (in India)!!! Reports from the front
Happy Fan Day! The stupid distributors are being mean and stupid and not letting me go to a sneak preview tonight (like they did for Dilwale and Happy New Year, and even Prem Ratan Dhan Payo! Come on, man!), so I have to wait until tonight to actually watch it. But, in the meantime, I’ll be giving reports from the front as it comes in from the Indian websites. Not reviews (who cares about those, right?), but box office sales.
(also, that header image is Shahrukh in London with his wax statue in Madame Tussaud’s which has been dressed up to look like Gaurav. Creepy, right?)
Brief Shahrukh Week Intermission for Traffic Announcement
Hey! They are remaking Traffic! Well, they already remade it. They are releasing a remake of Traffic! I am a little worried that the trailer spoiled the movie.

Yay! First looks at other movies! It’s like they are already preparing us for a post-Fan world! Although, hopefully, we won’t have to really face it until at least a month from now (a Shahrukh release has to stay in theaters at least 4 weeks, right?).
Royal Party Update: Hey! Rishi Was There! And No One Took a Picture
This event is so odd! I wonder if there was some sort of photo restriction? After Arpita Khan’s wedding, there were personal instagram posts, official photos, news photos, family photos, basically every minute was documented. And with this, there’s only like 6 photos released, and none of the important bits.
More Details About the Royal Party: Huh. Not Really That Impressive
So, a few more details about the party are now available. And they all make me go, “Huh. I probably would have skipped out and gone to Anant Ambani’s do instead too.”

Seiches and Fan’s Rapidly Approaching Release Date
I don’t have anything to watch this weekend! Maybe I will actually be desperate enough to try out a Telugu release in theaters (Sardaar Gabbar Singh is supposed to be a sequel to a remake of Dabangg, and I feel like I have seen Dabangg enough that I could probably figure out what is happening). But after weeks of having something new and exciting every Friday, the Hindi prospects this week are just dismal.

Vishal-Shekhar in Concert: Way Better Than it Should Have Been!!!
I was very dubious about going to this concert, and I wouldn’t have done it if it weren’t for the convenience and curiosity factor of the location. But, I am so glad I did! It was awesome! Well, at first, kind of boring. But then awesome!

Sushant Singh Rajput is single again! I am sure many many people care about this news, but I am probably the only person who cares about it exclusively because of Byomkesh Bakshy! I just really liked that movie.
Rocky Handsome, New John Abraham Movie This Friday: What the Heck is It?
Somehow, this film slipped completely under my radar. Not as much as Jai Gangaajal, there has been some promotion at least, comments and twitter and so forth, but probably because I was so Kapoor and Sons focused, I didn’t even realize it was coming out this week. But then I saw the really super cool poster (above), and decided it is worth investigating.

I am so enjoying this Kangana-Hrithik story. It’s the perfect kind of celebrity scandal where it crosses the line from “they’re just like us! Oh, now I feel bad about their problems” to “This is something that would never ever happen to a regular person and I feel no guilt about watching it.” Oh, and there is some minor industrial non-gossipy news happening as well.
(Another favorite part of the Kangana-Hrithik story, thanks to Krrish 3 there are a plethora of really odd looking pictures of the two of them)

Never make me direct Rishi Kapoor. Oh my goodness! He just gave an interview about Kapoor and Sons which does not make him sound very fun. For someone with such a bright and happy onscreen persona, he really does not come across as light-hearted in interviews. On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor, who comes across as sort of naive and simple onscreen has a really interesting business mind, which is makes me interested in her just announced next career move.

Boy, I thought I would have a hard time with this, because 51 is so many, but it is actually surprisingly easy! The man really is lovable.

The time difference between India and America is so confusing. Yesterday was Friday there, I think? And there was no news. And now it is Saturday and there is a lot? I don’t know if that is because people are issuing statements/rumors on the weekend hoping they will be hidden, or if they put it out now hoping people will pay more attention since they have more leisure time. In any case, my Friday news round-ups are always bigger than my Thursday ones.
