Isn’t that nice? I love it when that happens. The things I have been talking about all along now get highlighted in an official publication. Just you wait, someday some fancy magazine is going to say “Everyone agrees, soft cooked eggs should be boiled for 2 minutes and not 3” and I can wave it in my mother’s face. HA!

Friday WatchAlong: Watch Raabta Right Here in 24 Hours, 3pm Chicago Time Friday!
I’ve decided! It was almost a tie, so I went with the movie I most want to see again. Also the movie I most want to sell other people on watching because it is sooooooooooooooo good and no one seems to see it.
Continue readingDrive Review: Okay, Now I See Why Karan Had to Netflix It!
I decided to ruthlessly use my friends to make myself watch this. The pickier people in my weekly movie night group canceled this week, so I forced myself and the less-picky people to finally watch Drive. It’s a nice solid movie in almost all ways, but I did finally spot the problem that explains why Karan had to make the business decision to delay it, and finally release on Netflix.
Continue readingSSR Inspired Discussion Post: Is it Good or Bad to Look for a Living Human Cause of a Suicide?
IMPORTANT RULE: on this post, you CANNOT discuss anything related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. I will edit any comment that includes details related to that tragedy. That is still in process, there are no clear answers to anything, it is not a valid example in a debate. But you can talk about absolutely anything else, including personal experiences. Suicide is a good thing for people to talk about, I think. It removes the shame from it, and some of the power.
Continue readingDetective Byomkesh Bakshy! My Other Favorite Sushant Singh Rajput Movie
This movie is just remarkably good all around, and Sushant is the center of all that goodness. More people should watch it to enjoy the pure quality of excellence on screen.
Continue readingRaabta: My Favorite Sushant Singh Rajput Movie
This is such a good movie, and such a good SSR performance. I didn’t want to see it, I thought the trailers looked not very good and I had no faith in SSR pulling off the lead role. And then did! And it was amazing!
Continue readingSushant Singh Rajput, A Person Whose Story Ended Too Soon
What a sad thing. What a very sad thing. The death of a young person is always sad, but when they take their own life, there is a special quality of tragedy to it. To see all that promise and hope from the outside, and know they were blind to it from within their own misery.
Continue readingSunday ReRun: Chhichore! A Nice College Comedy With A Surprising Ending
Well, that was a better movie than I expected! Not super duper great, but enjoyable and pleasant and well made with a very nice message. About a billion times better than Mission Mangal, for instance. And thus, deserving of a Sunday rerun post for those of you who missed it. Especially when Street Dancer 3D has us feeling all warm about Shraddha Kapoor.
Continue readingBirthday Face Off! Sushant Singh Rajput Versus Tovino Thomas
What an auspicious day, two hot rising stars born at once! But the question is, which one is better?
Continue readingSaturday Small Talk: Chat Away While I See Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Again!
I invited my parents to watch Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy with me, we’ll see if it works out. I am very nervous, they have extremely unpredictable taste. Oh, and I promised an Asoka review, it’s going up sometime today.
Continue readingMonday Morning Questions: What Do You Want to Ask Me The Week Dream Girl Comes Out?
Happy Monday! Tonight I get to watch Student of the Year 2 again with my friend who loves Tiger. It shouldn’t be too torturous, I don’t love Tiger but I do kind of love Student of the Year 2.
Continue readingChhichhore Review (SPOILERS): Why it Is Important To Talk Honestly To Your Kids About Your Life
I really really like the message of this movie! And it is a message that the trailers and advertisements for some reason didn’t make clear. I’m gonna spoil it in this post, but I honestly think that being spoiled might make you more interested in watching the film than going in unspoiled. But, you know, you do you! Read this review if you want to remain unspoiled.
Continue readingChhichhore Review (No Spoilers): A College Comedy With a Look Towards the Future
Well, that was a better movie than I expected! Not super duper great, but enjoyable and pleasant and well made with a very nice message. About a billion times better than Mission Mangal, for instance.
Continue readingTrailers! Chhichhore and Dream Girl!
Those aitches are going to kill me in Chhichhore, I will never be able to spell it correctly. On the other hand, Dream Girl is a breeze! Purely for my spelling abilities, I wish all movies had English titles.
Continue readingSilly Sunday: Choose Your Own Ending Love Triangle, Which Hero Should She Pick?
Happy Sunday! This is a silly silly post, and a lazy post. I’m not writing the ending for these, you get to!
Continue readingHindi Film 101: How Do You Become a Hindi Film Star? Let’s Find Out By Looking at the Current Stars!
Let’s see if I can do this! Maria in the comments said she has a hard time understanding what “debutante” means in descriptions of casts. And it sent me down a road, and I think what I am going to try to do is give the very brief highlights of all the working actors in Hindi film today.
Continue readingSunday ReRun: Raabta! A Very Silly But Satisfying Movie
Totally did not plan to have this movie re-reviewed the same week as Magadheera! But didn’t that all work out nicely?
Continue readingAnother FanFic from the Comments, Queen Sequel: Rani and Oleksandr Forever! And Happy Ending for Kedarnath
It’s Saturday, why think? I’m just gonna do a quick post based on a discussion in the comments, and also because I love writing fanfics (it’s like stretching after running).
Continue readingKedarnath Review (SPOILERS): Oh Good, the Old Brahmin Man Survived, He’s the MOST Important
OH THIS MOVIE!!!!!! Mad me so angry at how they ended it! But I only got angry because I cared, the rest of the film was good enough to make me care. If you want to know what happens and why I am angry, you can read the rest of the review. If you want to go in fresh, you can read the No Spoilers review.
Kedarnath Review (No Spoilers): A Great Debut for Sara, Until the Very End
This is a hard review to write, because I don’t want to spoil the movie, but then on the other hand I need to be give you a clue of what kind of a film it will be so you can make an informed decision about whether or not to watch it. I guess I will just say that I really liked the opening and the middle, but the ending did not work for me AT ALL. So if you are able to enjoy a movie in pieces, can separate out sections, you will enjoy it a lot. But if you can’t block out bits and pieces, (like me), then the bitter ugly bit is going to end up ruining the rest of it. So, BE AWARE!
Songs From Upcoming Movies! 2.0 and Kedarnath
Fun fun! Song songs! I don’t know how these movies will be, but the songs are really lovely. Too bad it’s after Thanksgiving so I am not allowed to listen to anything but Christmas music until the 26th (allowed by myself, I have very strict rules for me).
News Round-Up: SSR is Cursed, Bharat is Altered, Panipat Gains a “Real” Kapoor
Nice little variety of news items today. Nothing super exciting, and no there are no wedding photos yet, but I haven’t done a news post in a while so it seemed like I should.
TGIT: Post-Valentine’s Blues, We Get a Bonus Photo Post This Week!!!!
I was going to do a bonus fanfic, but judging by view count, the TGIF posts are more popular, so I’m doing that instead. And a nice Valentine’s one, for us to recover from all the romance and coupliness of yesterday.
Silly Sunday: an Acid Survivor Romance, Inspired by Shahrukh at Davos
This popped into my mind during a discussion in the comments on posts about Davos and I just had to write it down. I’m very excited!
Starter Kit: Rising Male Stars
I could give you an elaborate reason why I felt the need for this post, but there really isn’t one besides “my views are down thanks to Thanksgiving and I want something that will get us all talking”. So, starter kit for male stars!
