IMPORTANT RULE: on this post, you CANNOT discuss anything related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. I will edit any comment that includes details related to that tragedy. That is still in process, there are no clear answers to anything, it is not a valid example in a debate. But you can talk about absolutely anything else, including personal experiences. Suicide is a good thing for people to talk about, I think. It removes the shame from it, and some of the power.Continue reading
This movie is just remarkably good all around, and Sushant is the center of all that goodness. More people should watch it to enjoy the pure quality of excellence on screen.Continue reading
This is such a good movie, and such a good SSR performance. I didn’t want to see it, I thought the trailers looked not very good and I had no faith in SSR pulling off the lead role. And then did! And it was amazing!Continue reading
What a sad thing. What a very sad thing. The death of a young person is always sad, but when they take their own life, there is a special quality of tragedy to it. To see all that promise and hope from the outside, and know they were blind to it from within their own misery.Continue reading
Well, that was a better movie than I expected! Not super duper great, but enjoyable and pleasant and well made with a very nice message. About a billion times better than Mission Mangal, for instance. And thus, deserving of a Sunday rerun post for those of you who missed it. Especially when Street Dancer 3D has us feeling all warm about Shraddha Kapoor.Continue reading
What an auspicious day, two hot rising stars born at once! But the question is, which one is better?Continue reading
I invited my parents to watch Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy with me, we’ll see if it works out. I am very nervous, they have extremely unpredictable taste. Oh, and I promised an Asoka review, it’s going up sometime today.Continue reading
Happy Monday! Tonight I get to watch Student of the Year 2 again with my friend who loves Tiger. It shouldn’t be too torturous, I don’t love Tiger but I do kind of love Student of the Year 2.Continue reading
I really really like the message of this movie! And it is a message that the trailers and advertisements for some reason didn’t make clear. I’m gonna spoil it in this post, but I honestly think that being spoiled might make you more interested in watching the film than going in unspoiled. But, you know, you do you! Read this review if you want to remain unspoiled.Continue reading

Those aitches are going to kill me in Chhichhore, I will never be able to spell it correctly. On the other hand, Dream Girl is a breeze! Purely for my spelling abilities, I wish all movies had English titles.Continue reading
Happy Sunday! This is a silly silly post, and a lazy post. I’m not writing the ending for these, you get to!Continue reading
Let’s see if I can do this! Maria in the comments said she has a hard time understanding what “debutante” means in descriptions of casts. And it sent me down a road, and I think what I am going to try to do is give the very brief highlights of all the working actors in Hindi film today.Continue reading
Totally did not plan to have this movie re-reviewed the same week as Magadheera! But didn’t that all work out nicely?Continue reading
It’s Saturday, why think? I’m just gonna do a quick post based on a discussion in the comments, and also because I love writing fanfics (it’s like stretching after running).Continue reading
OH THIS MOVIE!!!!!! Mad me so angry at how they ended it! But I only got angry because I cared, the rest of the film was good enough to make me care. If you want to know what happens and why I am angry, you can read the rest of the review. If you want to go in fresh, you can read the No Spoilers review.
This is a hard review to write, because I don’t want to spoil the movie, but then on the other hand I need to be give you a clue of what kind of a film it will be so you can make an informed decision about whether or not to watch it. I guess I will just say that I really liked the opening and the middle, but the ending did not work for me AT ALL. So if you are able to enjoy a movie in pieces, can separate out sections, you will enjoy it a lot. But if you can’t block out bits and pieces, (like me), then the bitter ugly bit is going to end up ruining the rest of it. So, BE AWARE!
Fun fun! Song songs! I don’t know how these movies will be, but the songs are really lovely. Too bad it’s after Thanksgiving so I am not allowed to listen to anything but Christmas music until the 26th (allowed by myself, I have very strict rules for me).
Nice little variety of news items today. Nothing super exciting, and no there are no wedding photos yet, but I haven’t done a news post in a while so it seemed like I should.
I was going to do a bonus fanfic, but judging by view count, the TGIF posts are more popular, so I’m doing that instead. And a nice Valentine’s one, for us to recover from all the romance and coupliness of yesterday.
I could give you an elaborate reason why I felt the need for this post, but there really isn’t one besides “my views are down thanks to Thanksgiving and I want something that will get us all talking”. So, starter kit for male stars!
Extra news post this week, because there was some interesting stuff, and also I felt like we needed something to talk about besides Shahrukh.
As you know from my no spoilers review, which already went up, I LOVED Raabta. It was not at all what I was expecting. I wasn’t even going to see it, but then my sister was in town, and watching a bad romance film in theaters is kind of the perfect sororal activity. And it turned out to be a good romance, instead of a bad one! Which is even more perfect for a sororal activity.
I say “all”, but really it’s just a subset of the commentators here. But a strong subset. Which includes myself. I can enjoy an action film or a well-made drama, but there is just something about the big swoony romances with songs and impractical plots and lots of chemistry between the leads. And this film definitely delivers!
