Welcome back! A lot to dig into in this section, and then we get into the bit that depresses me terribly. Happy Wednesday! Time to talk Bahubali 2! Or maybe something else, have you been watching anything different? Because I haven’t! 3rd watch in theaters last night.
I know I know, there is beauty in tragedy, no success without loss, blah blah blah. I don’t care, it’s SAD! I can’t take it! So before I go into the really really dark part of Bahubali 2, I am going to have to write my own imaginary happy version of it. So I can pretend there is some other fictional universe where it all worked out in the end.
Welcome back! Here we are, part 7. Where thing start to get sad and scary. The last time I saw it, I was surrounded by sobbing children for basically the whole middle hour. Lot’s of “Daddy, no! Welcome to the end of our first all Bahubali week! But not our last, I am only about an hour into the film, so these posts will be continuing for a while. But I hope to manage to watch something else over the weekend, so I can give us a little bit of variety! Even the most delicious meal can pale, if it is all you eat. Happy Thursday! I was going to do two posts yesterday, but instead I did one summary post and one speculative post. And I think the speculative post is a little better written! Check it out. I just can’t resist writing this! We’ve been all talking and agreeing in the comments that there were big character moments “missing” from Bahubali 2. And I was suddenly struck with inspiration and I just have to write my version of how those scenes would go.

Happy Wednesday! I have still only seen Bahubali 2 once and I am beginning to question all my life decisions.
I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a post that tries to put Bahubali 2‘s all India success into context. And then both T.J Stevens and Cerusee indicated that they would be interested, so the poor Samarth-Mukherjee family has to wait another week for me to finish them, because I want to try a brief history of “regional” films.
I accurately predicted, 5 days ago, that Bahubali 2 would be #3 at the US box office at the end of the weekend. So this is one of those HA HA HA HA HA I WAS RIGHT I AM QUEEN OF EVERYTHING posts. My favorite kind! Well, no, my favorite kind is HA HA HA HA SRK WAS RIGHT HE IS KING OF EVERYTHING. Because I am a sick sick obsessed person. But this one is pretty good too!

Welcome to my tedious and time consuming scene by scene coverage of Bahubali 2! I already put up my No Spoilers review, if you want something to read while you wait to buy tickets. And my SPOILERS review, if you want something quick to read to think about what you just saw. This is something else, the intensive graduate-level-film-class scene by scene breakdown and discussion which will last for a couple weeks and only get a few very dedicated readers. But I haven’t done one of these since Raees, and Bahubali seemed like an appropriate time to dust off the old analytical skills.
Not the kind of “this is exactly what happened” spoilers, just slight comments about things. But if you have already seen the movie, maybe you will appreciate that! Oh, and if you want “this is what happens” spoilers, you can check out this review.
I won’t promise that this will be my last review. I already posted my no spoilers review. And it’s possible that over the next few weeks, as I re-watch it, I end up posting one of those scene by scene things that takes me forever to write. But right now, I want to get up a SPOILER post, if nothing else so we all have a safe place to talk about the movie without worrying about ruining it for other people.
Yaaaaaay! The trailer is out! And I missed it last night because I can’t understand time changes! Karan announced when it would be released, but I thought it would be early this morning, not late last night. Oh well. It’s here now!
Is it crazy that I am equally excited for both these movies? Badrinath should be very very proud if I am putting it up there with Bahubaali 2!
That’s all I have to say really, just BAHUBAALI POSTER!!!! Let us all celebrate! Also, isn’t it handy that both Prabhas and Rana Duggabati have birthdays at the perfect time to promote it? Although probably if they didn’t, the filmmakers would have found another occasion around now to release it.
I thought there was news today, but then I dug into it, and yeah, there’s no news. It’s just rumors and suppositions with famous names thrown in to make me click the link. Oh well.
This is, like, half a story. But it’s about Bahubaali 2, so I care DEEPLY. And I figure most other people would as well. Also, kind of interesting from an industry stand point.
