Did you think I would forget you? I did not! Well, I kind of did, this post was written yesterday and scheduled. But I still wanted to put up some kind of holiday greeting.

Christmas Means Hope, and Why I Find that in Indian Films
I wrote a silly thing for Sunday using Christmas traditions for fanfic. And I am doing a Christmas Card giveaway. All of that is kind of silly and superficial, it may seem as though I don’t take the holiday seriously. Or maybe I do, but I don’t find anything in it that can overlap with my Hindi film love. And that’s not the case, so I want to write a post about why Christmas is so important to me, and how it wraps itself around every part of my life, including the films I watch. (this is a repost from last year)
Continue readingKatching Up on Koffee: BAHUBALI!!!!
I know, this is late, but it’s Christmas Eve, is anyone really waiting for this post to go up?
Continue readingMerry Christmas Eve!!! Grand Finale of the Christmas Season, Give Me Your Address and I Will Send You a Card!!!!
Happy Christmas Eve! Like many households, we are celebrating with the annual Fight Over Whether Or Not to Go to Midnight Services. It’s so cold! And so late! Is candlelight carol singing really worth it? Or do we split the difference and either drive instead of walking, or go to the cheating 10:30pm service? At least it gives us a nice topic of conversation for the next 12 hours
Sunday ReRun: Kaho Na Pyar Hai, For Christmas!
Christmas time! A time for thinking about miraculous rebirths and Santa Clause and snow and desert island romances. Okay, maybe not that last, but the rest of it is alllllll here in this movie. Especially Santa.
Continue readingSilly Sunday FanFic (rerun): The Christmas Story in an Indian Film Trilogy
A ReRun for Christmas! Of my most Christmassy fanfic, the one that is actually based on the Christmas story. And it’s a really good one too.
Continue readingChristmas Card Give Away, the LAST WEEK! And the Winner is… Joyomama!!!!!
Every week I think “this is it, the greatest card ever”. And then I top myself the next week. But I really feel like this week it actually IS the greatest card ever.
Continue readingSunday ReRun Announcement! Soorma, the Other Hockey Movie
Yes, I am going to make you watch two movies based on true stories about Indian Hockey players in the same week. Fun times! We can all decide which we like best!
Continue readingNext Friday ReRun Classic Announcement: Gold! To Help You Catch Up on Movies of 2018 Before it is Over!
I’m on vacation, I’m not writing a new review. And anyway, Gold is a good movie and it is on Prime now so you should all go watch it! Also, Filmilibrarian is lowkey obsessed with it, and I wanted to support her in that because I am all about supporting obsession.
Continue readingMiss Bennet: Christmas At Pemberly Post (With Spoilers! Watch Out!): This Play is Like Watching a Really Really Good P&P FanFic, but at Christmas!
Procrastinatrix said she wanted a review of the totally silly Christmas play my sister and I just saw (while wearing matching Christmas sweatshirts!). It’s essentially Pride and Prejudice fanfic, but well-written fanfic. So good in fact that I kind of want to end by suggesting a minor rewrite and casting for the Indian version.
Continue readingSaturday Small Talk: I’ll Tell You About My Weekend if You Tell Me About Yours!
Happy Saturday! I am sleeping in because yesterday was very very long and very very tiring. I’ll tell you all about it, and then you can talk about your days while I sleep.
Continue readingZero Review (No Spoilers): Regressive Romance, Progressive Special Effects
This is the review to read if you haven’t seen the film yet but want an idea of what it is like before you make your decision as to whether or not to watch it.
Continue readingZero Review (SPOILERS): TOO MUCH PLOT!!!!
First, most importantly, ANGIE! And all other Maddy Fans! Maddy is in it for about 15 minutes cumulatively and all he does is stand there looking solid and sensitive in glasses with shaggy hair. Barely has a character. But looks quite good. Everyone else: this movie was a disappointment, but probably still more enjoyable if you go in fresh than if you go in SPOILED. This review is for those who absolutely cannot see it in theaters, or who have already seen it and want to discuss.
Continue readingTGIF ReRun: For Christmas! Men and Women in Red
If all goes as planned, I just finished watching Zero and now am driving back to my sister’s place, and the review will go up sometime later today. In the meantime, have a TGIF post!
Continue readingHappy Zero Day!!!!
Happy Zero Day!!!! And reminder, No Spoilers!!!! I will put up a spoiler review ASAP, and then we can all talk there in a nicely quarantined area. In the meantime, you can continue talking about Chennai Express on the review I posted last night.
Continue readingFriday Classics: Chennai Express, Come for the Comedy and Stay for the Characters
I always remembered this as a really good movie, but I hadn’t watched it straight through in a few years and thought maybe I was mis-remembering. No, it really is a really good movie!
Continue readingMatchmaking Ranking Game! Who is Your Perfect Star?
Yes, it’s another game! I am just so tired. The last marathon week before leaving town is exhausting. And I am guessing many of you are in a similar state. So, let’s put our brains to work on brainless things!
Continue readingTGIT: By Popular Request, Shaggy-Haired Actors!
Tomorrow has to be Christmas-y, because that is The Rule, but I am sneaking in a random post just because I love you and I want you all to be happy.
Continue readingNew Trailers! Simmba and Zero! Ranveer Plays Something Ajay Could Do, Kat Plays Something Only She Could Do
I woke up soooooo early today. Which is good practice, because I have to wake up even earlier for my flight tomorrow. And it meant I got to watch the new songs just hours after they came out!
Continue readingSeiches and Zero’s Upcoming Release
Everyone has kind of stopped commenting and reading lately on the blog, and I am also noticing that there aren’t that many new news stories. Another Simmba song, another PC wedding, that’s kind of it. Most of all, I am noticing that I myself don’t have much energy to write anything. Which got me thinking back on a post I first wrote before the release of Fan.
Continue readingHindi Film 101: Ramayan and Mahabharat Part 6, The War Begins, Drona and Bhishma Arrive to Meet Their Doom
Part 6! Back to the main storyline after a detour into Krishna and Karna. Although I guess there will be more detours here, that’s what the Mahabharat is about, all the little stories that make us think about how things happen, how they begin and end.
Continue readingQuickie News Post: Bachchan Swag, Prerna in Jail Still, Vikrant Massay Has a Job
Quick little baby stories, but still fun to talk about! All I have scheduled for later today is another Mahabharat post, and that’s not so fun, so I wanted something light to go up first.
Continue readingWednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Listening To and Thinking and Watching This Week?
Happy 2 Days to Zero!!!!! And 6 days to Jesus, but come on, we know which is more important.
Continue readingHappy Goa Day!!!! Have Some Goa Songs
Hey, it’s Goa day! What fun! Yes yes, complex political history and battles and so on, but today is the day it was freed and joined India, so let us celebrate in song!
Continue reading10 Indian Movies With White Girls to Start a Discussion
I’m loving this “start a discussion” criteria! No need for perfection or judgement, just something to talk about. So, let’s talk! New topic, white girls in Indian films. Not the best examples, not the most examples, just some examples. And bonus, most of these characters show up for a song for 90% of their screen time. So you can join in the discussion as soon as you watch the songs! No need to limit yourself to movies you have seen.
