Ready for me to be grumpy? Sometimes I just am, I read these news stories and think “everyone is stupid and gullible!” and it bothers me.
Well, that was boring. It’s been a boring season in general, but this one was particularly energyless. Aamir really needs someone with him, I loved him last year with the two actresses, and his Kiran episode is adorable, but this was mostly just bleh.
I gave into my secret horrible unhealthy addiction yesterday and read a book. Which is why I only got 6 hours of sleep, forgot to eat dinner, and still haven’t written my Koffee post. Books are VERY BAD for me!!!! Movies are much healthier, reading is dumb. Anyway, sorry for the lack of posts, at least I managed to get this one up on time somehow.

Happy Jab Harry Met Sejal day! Shahrukh may not have a Diwali release this year, but that just means we get to keep up the celebration for his last film. I’ll be reposting some of my reviews, and the index of coverage, and of course the tweetalong starts at 2pm.
DISCLAIMER: This was written after my first watch. It took my second watch to understand some of the film, and it took my 3rd watch to really see it for what it was, and it took my 4th watch and my scene by scene to fully appreciate it. Anyway, an interesting time capsule of a first response!
No Spoilers review is already up, time for SPOILERS! And then, sometime next week, I start the slow crawl through the scene by scene. Because yes, this movie is good enough to deserve it. Oh, and also good enough that you shouldn’t SPOIL yourself if you are planning to watch it. Not super super good, I don’t want to oversell it, but good enough that it is worth avoiding spoilers.
I wasn’t going to do a Sunday post this week, but I need a break from writing reviews that I should be writing and it is just so refreshing to do fanfic for a bit. Plus, I love Harry and Sejal!
Nice little Telugu movie, nothing special, I just watched it for Maddy. If you might be interested in seeing it, definitely read the No Spoilers review and skip this one (the movie works a lot better if you don’t know what is happening next). But if you won’t have a chance to see it for whatever reason, you can read this instead.
What a fun movie to watch on a lazy Saturday! I spent most of the day in bed, and then zipped over to the movie theater (missing the first ten minutes of the movie), and then zipped back home and now I get to write a fun little review of a fun little movie.
I probably could have written about both these things earlier today, but I didn’t. Oh well, better late than never!
I had a surprisingly lovely evening! And now I am sleeping in before going off to the Maddy matinee, and then coming home to another friend who is planning to come over tomorrow afternoon. What is happening to my social life????? A month of nice quiet evenings and then all of a sudden everything happening in a few days. I’m tired.
Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to share a picture of my SRK Day cake once I finish it, but I don’t know when that will be. In the meantime, let us share our plans for the Big Night!

Another little Shahrukh story! Personal to me, nothing to do with anyone else, but I like putting in these little stories and building a vision of my almost 15 years of fandom.
Another little story. Hopefully people like them, I certainly like writing them and thinking about all the little moments that make up Shahrukh in my life.
Everyone said I should celebrate Shahrukh Month however I wanted, and today I feel like telling stories. Just little moments that help build up the whole picture of my relationship with him (a one-sided relationship, but still a true one).
I just had my usual agonizing ten minutes of deep moral complexity when deciding what milk to buy, and I thought I would walk you all through it so you know that I’m not just insane about overthinking movies, it’s my whole life.
We were talking in the Jab Tak Hai Jaan review about how “Ishq Shava” was such a different style of dance for Shahrukh and that got me thinking about the other songs that really showcase his dancing. If I miss one, feel free to add it in the comments. Oh, and this is NOT “Best Songs”. There’s all kind of amazing song sequences with perfect performances from him that are not included here, because they didn’t highlight dancing.
Well, MKY pointed out at in the comments on my Friday post that Shahrukh would never play a same-sex romance, or the father of a marriage age daughter, or a polyamorous man in 3 relationships. To which I said “well, that’s what fanfic is for!” So if Shahrukh isn’t going to give us these films in real life, I feel I have an obligation to give them to us in fanfic form.
I’m in that perfect mood of tired but wanting a distraction that leads to very short fanfic ideas. So, for today’s TGIF, let us look at photos of Shahrukh in real life and pretend they are characters he is playing.
There are a large number of films where he actually is playing his own age, or close to it. But for those few where he is clearly far far distant from the character age, here are my suggestions for how to fix it. It’s not hard, I don’t know why they didn’t just right it this way to begin with!
Yaaaaay, it is finally here! Released late, which means only an hour before I woke up. I am sure Shahrukh was holding it as long as possible in order to make life easier for me.

ZiziStreet/ZiziK is sadly no more, which has greatly lowered the number of high quality Shahrukh fanvids in the world. But there are still some good ones! And it’s a nice fun thing to write about and think about for his birthday month.
