Thanks to a recommendation in the comments on my Halloween post, I watched Sardaar Ji! My second Punjabi movie! These movies are FUN! And, they make me feel like I am a cool Punjabi woman who can handle anything, at least for a little while.
Don’t panic, he still doesn’t use the buttons. And one of them is white, so a little see-through. It’s all good.
He tweeted something! Just to ME! Okay, just to everyone who love him and is always there for him. Including ME! Because I made him a cake.
He already gave us a Dear Zindagi trailer, which was wonderful, but just to make sure we fully celebrate, he gave us another video as well!
Yaaaaaaay! A full length song trailer!!!! It looks nice. And I kind of wonder if we are only getting this, a song trailer for a song already released, because of the behind the scenes drama.
Booo, no big wave to the crowd and public viewing this year! Boooooooo! Come on Shahrukh, your birthday isn’t about you! It’s about all of us! (have you seen my cake?)
My cake is done! Thanks to discount Halloween candy I found in my freezer. So beautiful! I can’t wait to eat his nose.
It’s now officially Shahrukh’s birthday in America! Let the bells ring out, the celebrations start! In my apartment, I have now finished frosting my cake.
It’s not yet November 2 in America, but it already is in India, so I am going to go ahead and start celebrating. Sort of.
You know I shouldn’t be your primary source for Indian political and other hard news, right? Because I don’t have a strong background in that, and more importantly, I’m not a journalist. If anything, I’m an analyst. I take news other people have already reported and put it together in interesting ways. Yaaaaaay! For the 1 day, the final day, here is the 1 way that Shahrukh makes me feel. And, okay, I’m going to go a bit over the top here, but I figure, if you’ve come with me this far, you feel the same way. Plus, I’m all caught up in the holiday spirit!
Aish is not my favorite actress ever, or my favorite public persona person. But on her birthday, I am going to follow a “if you can’t say anything nice…” policy, and just focus on her dancing, which is incredible. She shows both Bharat Natyam training, and a really good ability to sell a dance onscreen. So here are my 12 favorite Aish dances.
I’m just assuming this is going to turn into multiple parts. Shivaay I’m going to knock out in one looooooooooong post, but this movie is a lot more interesting than that one. You ready to get spooooooooooky? Well, kind of. I can’t really think of many super scary Indian films. Partly because I just don’t like scary/horror films. And I already blew my idea for a post on not-so-scary songs that I just really like from bad horror movies back on Friday the 13th. I know there are a lot of them, especially in the last few years, but I don’t really watch them. So let’s see what I can do with what I have.
Overseas Box Office report is out! Woo! And it proves either that Ajay has failed, or that Ranbir is the rising star, or really it’s all about Karan. I’m pretty sure it’s all about Karan.

I put up my Spoilers review first, for once, because I wanted a place for people who had already seen the movie to discuss it. But now it’s time for a review for people who haven’t seen the movie yet, and are curious what other people think about it. But NO SPOILERS. Because the plot is very carefully constructed to build point to point, and if you do decide to see the movie, you should try to go in fresh.

Normally I’m not that careful about spoilers on this blog. I flag them when I put them into a post, I put up spoiler and non-spoiler reviews, but I don’t care if you read the spoiler review before you see the movie, or if you put a spoil in a comment, or whatever. However, in this case, I’d like to try to keep the experience that Karan carefully crafted for the audience. So I’m putting up this review early, so everyone who has seen it has a place to think about and talk about the film as a whole. And then the other review will be for people who haven’t seen the movie yet, but are planning to.
I got pretty silly yesterday. Let’s see if I can pull it back and be serious. The most admirable things Shahrukh has done.

I saw Shivaay tonight! Because it was the practical thing to do based on theater schedules, even though everyone else is seeing ADHM. I’m glad I saw it, not necessarily glad I saw it before ADHM.
