Well, this is an okay section. But the poor thing is stuck between two really great sections. So I am feeling a bit “oh let’s just get this thing over with!” about it. (full index of JHMS posts here)

Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 18: Phurr and Anushka’s Awakening
This is going to sound really silly, but what “Phurr” reminds me of the most is “Kwaja Mere Kwaja” from Jodha-Akbar. Only with Diplo and sex instead of Rahman and God. (full index of JHMS posts here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 17: Anushka Is “Worth It”
This is such an odd section of the film. It’s very hard to describe without sounding really really stupid and shallow. But it isn’t! If you go on this whole journey with these characters, it makes complete sense. (full index of JHMS posts here)
Happy Eclipse Songs Post!
Happy Eclipse! Which I can’t see at all because it is super overcast here! And which is kind of okay with me, I wasn’t very excited about it in the first place. I don’t like it when the sun goes away! And if you feel the same, here are some songs to remind you of the sun.
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene by Scene Part 16: Train Trip!
Phew! We get back to unspoken interpersonal shifts in this section, instead of that boring stuff actually happening in the last section! Who needs THAT! (full index of JHMS coverage here)
Second Silly Sunday: So Sexy Shahrukh! James Bond Version with Madhuri/Tabu
Well, we all had good fun on my post this morning coming up with alternative plot-necessary reasons for Shahrukh to be sexy at 11 for an entire film. The clear winner was a James bond themed plot with someone of equal sexiness like Madhuri. And then the runner up that was my favorite, Shahrukh as James Bond type who falls for the glasses wearing Moneypenny type.
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene Part 15: The World Intrudes
This is maybe my least favorite part of the film. There are still fascinating interesting things that happen, but it’s a lot of stuff happening in the “real” world instead of internally, in order to set up the really interesting internal stuff that happens in the last bit. So not as much long intense consideration of character moments, more “and then this happened, and then this happened, and then this happened.” (full index of JHMS coverage here)
Silly Sunday Post: Sexy Shahrukh Options
A total indulgence here. Now that we have seen Shahrukh play an entire film with the sexy cranked up to 11 (full JHMS coverage here), I am toying with ideas for other films he could be in with a similar effect. You know, because the story requires it of course. UPDATE: Following suggestions in the comments, I added more sexy SRK options here
Raees Full Coverage Index
Another Index finished! And I think this might be the last one? Because Bahubali is already indexed, and there hasn’t really been anything else that big this year.
Dear Zindagi Full Coverage Index
And another Shahrukh movie! I honestly didn’t set out to cover Shahrukh more than anyone else (I do personally like him more than anyone else, but that shouldn’t affect my professional style reviews). It’s just that I started the blog in late 2015, and since then Shahrukh has been in 5 major movies and Salman and Aamir have only been in 1 each (I’m not counting Tubelight), and Dangal came out at Christmas so I didn’t have time for full coverate.
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Scene By Scene Index
I forgot I did this! Thank goodness I looked at the list of films in 2016 and it reminded me. So now ADHM gets its own index. With only a wee bitty bit of Shahrukh in it.
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene Part 14: Not Legal Offense
What an interesting scene this is! Followed by a couple less interesting scenes, then another interesting few ones. We will see how far I get today. (full index of JHMS coverage here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 13: Klara Appears
Welcome back! Kind of a double post, partly because my viewer numbers are telling me that people are losing interest (I know, not most of you, but some of you), and I want to crank through this thing while most of you can still remember the film. And also partly because the last section felt like it should really lead straight into this one (full JHMS coverage index here)
TGIF: Girls Don’t Make Passes at Men Who Wear Glasses….Or Do They?
My friend suggested this for last week, but I already had the tie idea, so I pushed it for this week. I am very excited. Yes, the red glasses will make an appearance.
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 12: Beech Beech Mein and More
Yay, post-Interval! More importantly, post my least favorite scene of the film (the last one I covered, right before the interval). And now we get to move back into the fun stuff (full index of Jab Harry Met Sejal coverage here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 11: The DDLJ Moment Re-Invented
This is perhaps my least favorite part of the movie. Not because it is boring or unbeautiful or anything, just because it feels like the part that fits least with the rest of it. I can make it work (as I will explain below), but it isn’t quite the perfect fit with no struggle that the rest of the film is. (full index of Jab Harry Met Sejal posts here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 10: Girlfriend Proposal
Well, this is a let down. Nothing is going to be as good as the last section. Well, until I get to the last-last section. Anyway, this bit has some hard work to do bringing us down from the emotional high we just experienced. It does the job, but it’s not very interesting.
DDLJ Scene By Scene Part 26: Party Party!
Not as exciting a section as the last one, no direct SRKajol interaction, but plenty of back and forth between Shahrukh and other characters. (full DDLJ index here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 9: Radha! FINALLY!!! The Emotional-Creative-Character-Plot Peak of the Film
You know the only thing it isn’t the “peak” of? Sexiness. Comes in at least third, after the maroon dress bedroom scene, and of course the ending. But it’s a little sexy too, in that “people liking each other and being happy is sexy” kind of way. Not in the “I must have you right now and am shaking with desire!” kind of way that the other two scenes are. I mean, the characters are shaking with desire, not the audience. Although if you were too, I won’t judge. (full index of JHMS coverage here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Part 8: Radha! Almost! I Got Bogged Down in Set-Up
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! I get to talk about my favorite part of the film! I’m SO EXCITED! Even though I kind of already went over this whole section in my first review. I don’t care, I’ll find new things to say. (full index of Jab Harry Met Sejal coverage here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene Part 7: Hiding, Talking, Sleeping
Oh boy oh boy! I get to continue my favorite section! I probably won’t get all the way to “Radha” today, that will be our little Independence Day treat tomorrow. (full index of Jab Harry Met Sejal posts here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene Part 6: A Chase
Oh boy! Another great interesting section! Although not as interesting as the next section, my favorite part of the film. (full index of Jab Harry Met Sejal coverage here)
Silly Sunday Speculative Post: What If Our Favorite Historical Characters Were Allowed Happy Endings? Rang De Basanti, Asoka, Mughal-E-Azam
This is semi-inspired by a conversation I had in the comments on the Rang De Basanti post with Shaily about what would need to change for Siddharth and Soha to end up together. Essentially, the whole movie except for the characters. Which got me thinking about all the Indian historical films that I really wish could have historically inaccurate happier endings.
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene: Part 5, “Chinese Vase”
I’m here! I’m excited! The first scene which really needs explanation and discussion or else it makes no sense. The one that we all get to have arguments about what it really means and if it is stupid or works and how we all (and all the characters) feel about things. Oh boy! (full Jab Harry Met Sejal index here)
Jab Harry Met Sejal Scene By Scene: Part 4, Phones and Clothes
Happy Friday! And Happy 4th part of JHMS scene by scene. I saw it for the 4th time last night, and you know, it holds up! Besides a couple of kind of slow parts in the second half, mostly just because the second half had more moments when Shahrukh and Anushka weren’t on screen together, and that’s what makes the movie work. But the songs, the character, all of that is still rewarding re-watching. But now I really need to stop, because the lack of sleep is beginning to catch up with me. (full index of JHMS coverage here)
