Obviously, today is Star Wars day. And so I am reposting my Star Wars fanfic post. And I am adding on regional cast ideas (mostly because Prithviraj has to be Han Solo if there is any justice in the world)

Ezra Review ReRun! A Jewish Horror Movie For Passover!
If this is the only Jewish-Indian movie I have seen (not counting Nadira and Aditya Roy Kapoor movies), I think it is a pretty good one! The Jewish community is treated as a vital part of Indian history, and it ends with a bunch of Jewish tourists saving the world (I have no doubt the extras actually were Jewish tourists hired for the day). I asked my Jewish friend if she knew how to save the world, she didn’t, but then she never had a bat mitzvah, we figured that is when you probably learn it.
Continue readingValentine’s Week! Aiyyaa, in Which Prithviraj Makes Us All Go “AIYYAAAAAA!”
I’m including this on Wednesday Malayalam, because PRITHVIRAJ! In one of his greatest roles. Or at least most shirtless roles.
Continue readingMalayalam ReRun: City Of God, My Favorite Malayalam Film
This is a very long and detailed review, as is appropriate for such a deep and complex movie. So, prepare yourself! Strap in for a lot of detail and discussion!
Continue readingWednesday Malayalam ReRun: Koode, A Movie About Sacrifice and Hope
Koode! Such a beautiful movie, and such a sad and then hopeful movie. I hope a lot of you saw it so we can discuss it here, and also just because it is worth seeing.
Continue readingHappy Veteran’s Day! To Celebrate, Men in Uniform!
Happy Veterans Day! Yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI and there weren’t nearly as many celebrations as I expected. I guess 100 years from now everything we are going through will seem very small and out of date too. That’s kind of comforting. Anyway, enough of that, hot guys in uniform!
TGIT: Birthday Boys Versus Each Other, Prithviraj Versus Shahrukh
Did you think I didn’t notice Prithviraj’s birthday? I did! But I was too tired and overworked to do anything about it. However, better late than never, and today is a good day for me to start a discussion in the comments since I won’t have time for a big long post until tonight.
Silly Sunday: Random Harvest! A completely Ridiculous Plot that is Just Begging to Be Remade in India
I’m exhausted after yesterday, so I’m not coming up with new stories, instead I am lifting a ridiculous plot from a classic Hollywood film/British novel. A plot so ridiculous that it really belongs in India any way, it was wasted in Hollywood.
Monday Malayalam Film School ReRun: City of God, I Watched it 11 Times in One Week and It Is Still Brilliant
This is a very long and detailed review, as is appropriate for such a deep and complex movie. So, prepare yourself! Strap in for a lot of detail and discussion!
Monday Malayalam: Ranam Review (SPOILERS), Just Barely Misses the Mark
I already did my No Spoilers review, you can read that if you have any hope of seeing the movie in theaters. But if you are stuck waiting for streaming that may never come and want to learn more about it, you can read this one.
Monday Malayalam: Ranam Review (No Spoilers), a Malayalam Take on Detroit
A special treat! I saw a Malayalam film in theaters! So there will be two Malayalam reviews today, first this No Spoilers one, and then a SPOILERS one later. Fun fun!
Monday Malayalam Film School ReRun Announcement! CITY OF GOD!!!! The Review That Prithviraj Retweeted
Another Malayalam rerun next week! And another Pellisary film. Because he is very very good, and not enough people watch him, and his films are easily available.
TGIF 2: A Game of 5, Which 5 Husbands Would You Pick?
Last night Meenakshy and I got to talking in the comments over whether I should switch from Prabhas to Siddharth for my Telugu husband, which turned into a discussion of how I get to have a husband for every language, which reminded me of this post.
Monday Malayalam/Tuesday Telugu: London Bridge/Love in London, A Cross Ocean Cross Languages Hit!
This is a combined Malayalam/Telugu post, because this movie was a combined Malayalam/Telugu hit (and also because I am lazy). Well, “hit”. I guess more accurately it could be called a “not flop”. But it’s still interesting! That a movie was made with Malayalam artists, dubbed into Telugu, and did well enough to be considered a “not flop”.
Monday Malayalam (on Saturday): Koode Review (SPOILERS), People Needing People to be Make Themselves Whole
I already put up my No Spoilers review. I’m going to encourage you to read that one if you haven’t seen the film yet. Not because spoilers would ruin it, but just because this review won’t really make sense without having seen the film. It’s so much about what is implied instead of what is shown, reading the plot bare bones won’t give a feel for how it is within the film. Wait until you can see it, and then come back here.
Monday Malayalam on Saturday: Koode Review (No Spoilers), Broken People Trying to Keep Moving Forward
First movie of the weekend! It could have come out last weekend, when there was no Hindi movie I planned to see, but nooooooooooooo, it had to come out this weekend, when there are 3 other films to juggle. Oh well, at least I got to see an Anjali Menon movie in theaters.
Monday Malayalam: Molly Aunty Rocks, The Middle-Aged NRI Woman Is Here to Save Us
Interesting movie. Some of it I liked, some of it I didn’t, but most of all it had a middle aged working woman heroine going up against a young single guy antagonist! Very odd combination, very satisfying.
Monday Malayalam: My Story, Prithviraj and Parvathy Do Melodrama
This was a ridiculous movie. I only watched it because there was a problem with Soorma and we couldn’t get tickets. But it was interesting, as a reminder that not every Malayalam movie, even the ones with the top tier cast, are that good.
TGIF: National Ice Cream Day! Pick a Flavor For Our Favorite Stars
National Ice Cream Day is actually Sunday (ooo! FanFic theme?), but I am stealing it for today for TGIF. Because I love those “what food is your favorite star?” kind of posts!
TGIF: Sanjay Inspired, Best Gym Looks
This comes right up to the line of acceptable objectification. But I think we are still okay, because it’s not like we are saying anything about their basic bodies, or comparing them with non-muscley guys (Abhishek, you are the best), or even muscle to muscle. Merely in terms of the clothes they have chosen to wear, and the moments they have allowed to be photographed, who is the best?
TGIF: Eid Mubarak! Men in Pathani Suits!
I did a TON of research on this. And turns out there is no such thing as a “Pathani suit”. there are various specific things that it could be, traditional garb in the North Indian/Pakistani cultures, but what is generally called “Pathani” is really just loose Salwar and a very long Kameez.
TGIW: Dhoti Men, Because My Boss is Out of the Office Today
My boss is gone today which means I can look at photos on my computer without fear of being observed and judged. Well, my co-workers might judge me, but whatever, I don’t care what they think. And I was just talking with Meenakshy about who looks good in a Dhoti, so why not do a Dhoti post? Similar too but different from my previous Lungi post. (for the purposes of this post, “Dhoti” means any single cloth that is used as a wrap skirt by an Indian man)
TGIF: In Honor of Yash and Roohi, BABIES!!!!!
Also in honor of my friend who’s baby is arriving any day now!!!!! Anyway, BABIES!
TGIF: All Southern!!!!! Men in Mundus/Lungis
I completely forgot our southerners last week, and I am doing an all-Hindi “Best of 2017” contest, so I really feel like I need to make up for it. And the best way I can is an Entire Post of Southern Gentleman. In their native garb.
TGIF Christmas Bonus: Men in Beards! Like Santa!
(A special treat, a second updated and reposted TGIF today! For Christmas!) I am sure if I wanted to google “sexy Santa” I could find it. But I don’t want to do that. So instead, I am going to limit myself to one Santa-like element, and look for beards. Sexy men with beards.
