I tried really really hard to come up with good imaginative theme this week. And then I gave up and decided “Green! Like Christmas!” (disclaimer: green turns out to be a really tricky shade! Some of these photos looked green on my home computer and not on my work one. After spending some time squinting, I just gave up and accepted that color can be subjective)
This is a variation on the game I put up on the morning post. But now it is specific to one actor and the characters they play.
Well, huh! This is a very interesting comparison with the last song. And I hope Aanand L Rai is planning to do something deep and interesting comparing the two of them. Or else it’s just an excuse for a Salman cameo.
Another Shahrukh repost! Dear Zindagi, a reminder of what happens when he takes a step back and lets his heroine take the lead. Okay, he always does that, but even more than usual.
It’s the annual (and sometimes other random times in the year) treat!!!!! Men in Beards! For Christmas! Like SANTA!!! Yes, I know it isn’t Christmas yet, but I just barely managed to finish my Delhi 6 review at work and I still have to do blechy end of month work stuff today, so you are going to have to be happy with a TGIF rerun (although there’s a couple new photos). Happy first Sunday of Advent! Naturally, I had to do a Christmas themed post (to match my Christmas themed TGIF post). I briefly considered doing unmarried mothers in honor of Mary, but then I decided to think small instead and use the random small items of Christmas as jumping off points for story ideas.
Yaaaaaay, first song!!!! It’s swoony, it’s romantic, it’s colorful, it’s delightful. Thank goodness Ajay-Atul came up with something better than what they did for Thugs.
Okay, how can I say this classily? There is a certain kind of pose which seems to say “yes, climb on top of me and enjoy yourself”. That is the kind of pose that I am looking for this week. You know, so you can pretend you are kneeling on top of them throwing rose petals or something in a chaste and romantic manner.
I mostly watched Dhanak, because the one sentence description made me think it would be a good Shahrukh fan watch. And it was, certainly. He comes off very well in it. But most of the movie is just about the two small children we are following, and their performances are so delightful, that’s what really makes the film. If you have access to American Netflix, it is streaming now, and I highly recommend it.
I put up a deep philosophical post about the Ramayan this morning. But enough of that! There are more important things to think about! And so I am re-posting my massive carefully considered and in depth discussion of which Indian man looks best in blue jeans. Answer: Probably either Maddy or John Abraham.
Procrastinatrix inspired me, mentioning that Juhi reminds her of Judy Holliday and making me think how perfect a Bells Are Ringing remake with Juhi would be. And then I started thinking about other remakes and how they would also be perfect. Get ready for some very deep cuts of classic Hollywood, because Juhi really has a classic clever Hollywood Musical feel to her.
This isn’t strange, right? It’s not like I am putting up photos of my own father and saying they are attractive. I am just putting up photos of other fathers with their children.
Yaaaay, another Shahrukh review! See how I am sneaking them in under the guise of “Friday Classics” even now that Shahrukh Month is over? Oh, and plus Juhi in a really nice role, for her birthday. Although Aaina is a better Juhi movie, remember to watch it for this Sunday if at all possible! It’s also a wonderful Amrita Singh movie, if this film makes you want more of her.
My FanFics don’t get many views, but the DeepVeer wedding is all anyone will want to talk about today anyway, so why not indulge myself? And those few of you who enjoy reading them. Especially those of you who helped me come up with this idea.

Happy Veterans Day! Yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI and there weren’t nearly as many celebrations as I expected. I guess 100 years from now everything we are going through will seem very small and out of date too. That’s kind of comforting. Anyway, enough of that, hot guys in uniform!
I may be failing at my “only have coffee three times a week and then the caffeine doesn’t get to you” system. I am sitting in my office on a no-caffeine day dreaming of coffee. Maybe I should get a hot chocolate instead and see if I can trick myself.
Happy Friday! Finally got to the end of the week! Phew. And as a reward, a completely fun and silly movie and a completely fun and silly review.
I think it’s one of those Big movies that I was avoiding, ones that are really good, and I also really like and I want to be careful to explain why I like them in a way that makes you like them too, not just appreciate their quality.
Happy Jab Harry Met Sejal day! Shahrukh may not have a Diwali release this year, but that just means we get to keep up the celebration for his last film. I’ll be reposting some of my reviews, and the index of coverage, and of course the tweetalong starts at 2pm.
DISCLAIMER: This was written after my first watch. It took my second watch to understand some of the film, and it took my 3rd watch to really see it for what it was, and it took my 4th watch and my scene by scene to fully appreciate it. Anyway, an interesting time capsule of a first response!
