It’s really not fair to all us account manager types that the end of the year accounting close period comes right after Christmas. I’m still drinking eggnog for breakfast! Hello blog people! I have nothing to say to you today. Normally Saturday is when I put up reviews of the movie I saw the night before, but my friend Dina was busy this week, so I didn’t see anything. And now I have to run around doing a million things so there isn’t really any time for me to write a full blog post on something else. Well, not yet. Maybe tonight. In the meantime, you can have what is now becoming traditional, the weekend post that just describes my day and maybe shows you a song you haven’t seen in a while.
Happy Wednesday! I had SUCH a productive weekend! Didn’t clean or cook or do laundry, but I did finish the Anu Aggarwal autobiography and watch a ton of movies, which is a kind of productivity.
I half considered doing a “serious” post for this day, people who taught me about Indian film, but then it just would have been a dozen SRK songs, and that’s not fair to the non-SRK people! So instead I’ll do teachers in general, and only half SRK songs.
And, as always, if there is a song you like that matches the theme, just mention it in the comments!
You know how everyone says “Awards are meaningless”? Well, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award is a special kind of meaningless that is also meaningful but only in a particular way. It is complicated. And Manoj Kumar won one, yay!
So, for Christmas, I gave my Dad Furious 7, an excellent movie. We watched it together Christmas afternoon (my second time, his first), and naturally, I started thinking about Deepika Padukone. Because, rumor has it, she was offered a role and turned it down for Happy New Year (or Ram-Leela, but the timing makes more sense with Happy New Year filming).
Now, Happy New Year is not the greatest film, and Furious 7 is excellent, but I still think Dips made the right decision.
