New Kaabil song! Which I clicked on because some tweet referred to the “unucual dance visuals” or something like that, so I thought maybe Hrithik was dancing. But nooooooooo. We can’t have nice things!

Happy: Half a Cute Love Story, Half a Lesson About the Struggle of Professional Women
I watched Happy! Because I wanted Bommarillu and I got confused. But this one was still cute. Is it possible there is a whole genre of “Genelia D’Suoza rom-coms”? Just because she has such a young perky face, she ends up in cute young perky love stories?
Monday Morning Question Post! On Rajnikanth’s Birthday!
Please don’t ask me any questions about Rajnikanth! I can’t answer them. But it is a big day, and I thought it should be recognized in my Question heading.
Christmas Give-Away Post 6!
It’s getting closer and closer! And I still have no idea what to give Grandpa! A sexy poster of Shahrukh? All 95 year old men like that, right? I usually do something homemade, but I haven’t even come up with a project yet and I’m running out of time. Anyway, give-away! Whoever makes the most comments in a given week gets one of my custom Christmas Card! (week 1 here, week 2 here, week 3 here, week 4 here, week 5 here)
TGIF Post: Santa/Raees-themed! Men With Beards!
I am sure if I wanted to google “sexy Santa” I could find it. But I don’t want to do that. So instead, I am going to limit myself to one Santa-like element, and look for beards. Sexy men with beards.
Monday Morning Question Post! With Caffeine!
Happy Monday! I’m sad the weekend is over, but glad I get to have coffee this morning! (5 more Christmas presents left to find and buy, 12 arriving by mail today, second Christmas party hosting tomorrow night, and Befikre comes out on Friday! And that’s not even mentioning the Raees trailer celebrations! I’m exhausted already and it’s still 20 days left) And I’m also happy that I get to put up a questions post, one of my favorite things! (previous posts here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here)
Christmas Give-Away Post!!!! Winner Week 5!
Thank goodness I am doing this give-away (if you are new to it, whoever makes the most comments each week gets a Christmas card)! Because I have sooooooooo much going on with Christmas, it is very nice to have a quick and easy thing to post. Today I picked up my rugs from the cleaners (so they will be clean by the time family starts arriving), put up all my decorations, bought snacks for the Christmas party I am hosting tomorrow, and got my car fixed (that last wasn’t Christmas related, it was just something I needed to do). And thus, fewer posts. But at least I can throw this up in between shopping online for all my relatives! (week 1 here, week 2 here, week 3 here, week 4 here)
TGIF Post: Our Evergreen Heroes
Moimeme pointed out that my Superlative post was tragically lacking in some of the worthy old-timers. So I am giving our Evergreen heroes their very own post. Hopefully it will make you look at some of our current father-role actors and go “Hey! He used to be HOT!”
Boys: Don’t Make Me Be a Teenager in Love in India!!!
Attakathi, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Premam, and now this, they all have very similar content, the kind of content I don’t really see in American film, or even in Hindi films that much. The struggles and pain of being in love, and not being of an age for it. It isn’t something American movies deal with, maybe because it isn’t an issue in the same way in America? At least, not any more.
Koffee With Karan: Ranbir is Turning Into His Father!
I don’t mean he’s getting the famous Kapoor figure (fingers crossed he never has that). Or the onscreen charm (he has always had that), but he is beginning to get just a hint of that terrifying interview quality. From what I’ve seen and read, it sounds like all the Kapoor men (except Shashi) have that a little bit, that slight hint of “Lord of the Manor, Don’t Cross Me or I’ll Have You Killed” in their eyes. On the other hand, Ranveer is still a total sweetheart. (first episode discussed here, and second here, and third here)
Giving Tuesday! Here Is What You Can Give To From the National to the Local
This year help is needed more than ever, there is a decent chance many of my relatives will be getting “donation in your name” gifts. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be fun! Here are some of the groups that I particularly like, with a filmi explanation for why you should care. (I feel bad not including any Indian organizations, but I am nervous about endorsing the wrong ones since I don’t know enough about their work on the ground level. All the ones listed below I know well and can confidently endorse)
Katching Up With Koffee: Varun and Arjun! Karan’s Boys!
I missed this, because Star TV didn’t have the courtesy to suspend all broadcasting in honor of Dear Zindagi Week. It’s just the worst when these multinational media conglomerates don’t bother to tailor their products to local cultures. Anyway, catching up now, up first, Varun and Arjun! (first episode discussed here, and second here)
Monday Morning Questions Post Post-Holiday!
Happy Cyber Monday!!! You Know What Would Make a Great Xmas Gift? My Book!
It really would! Especially if you have been trying to explain to your family and friends why you like these movies and take them seriously. Let me make the explanation for you! It will save you so much energy and anger. Or, you can buy it as a Christmas gift to yourself, and then have handy talking points all ready for all the family gatherings.
Christmas Give Away Post 4!
Yay! Post 4! In case you missed the others, the rules are simple. Every week, whoever made the most comments, gets a Christmas card. You can only win once, if you make the most comments another week, I will skip and go to the next highest. Oh, and every week I announce the winner for this week, and put up a picture of the card that last week’s winner received. (Here’s the card I posted last week, my favorite.)
1 Year of Blogging: Which Were My Best Posts (In My Opinion)?
I already let you guys say which were your favorites, but I should really talk about my favorites too, right? And maybe it will get a few more people to read them, because some of the view counts for these are pitiful! And they are so brilliant!
1 Year of Blogging!!! Which were my most successful posts?
I mentioned in my 1,001 post that I was getting a couple hundred visitors a day, but it was less impressive than it sounds. See, I can tell what those visitors are reading, and most of them are not here for my glorious prose and brilliant thoughts. And I thought, as a gift to you, my readers, I would lift the curtain a little and explain why I post what I post, and why you read what you read. And at the very end, I tell you what my top 3 posts of all time are right now.
My First Post of My 2nd Year of Blogging!!! 1,001!!!
First, THANK YOU!!!! To all you wonderful people who read and follow and especially COMMENT!!!
Monday Morning Question Post! Last One of the Year!
Christmas Card Give Away Winner Week 3!!!
Merry 6 weeks until January! And Week 3 of my Christmas give away! In case you missed last week’s card, here is the link to that post. This week though, I think, is my greatest creation of this year. If not of all years! Oh, and in case you missed the other posts, the rules are, whoever posts the most comments every week gets one of my custom Christmas cards. And you can only win once, which means there are 9 chances to win! Well, now 6.
TGIF Post: It’s My Father’s Birthday! Let’s Look at Some Hot Fathers!
This isn’t strange, right? It’s not like I am putting up photos of my own father and saying they are attractive. I am just putting up photos of other fathers with their children.
Monday Morning Question Post! Life Goes On!
As you know if you are a regularly reader, the election sort of knocked me off my feet last week. But I am trying to be better this week, return to a routine and some sense of regular life. Which means Monday Morning Questions! (previous posts here and here and here and here and here and here and here)
ADHM Full Summary Part 6: Aish Arrives!

Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana: So Cute! A Childhood Love Story Between Teenagers
I knew this movie was a big deal, and I knew it was inspired/related to Maine Pyar Kiya. But I didn’t know how innocent it would be! Innocent like Maine Pyar Kiya, but even more so.
