Happy Tuesday! Now that the holiday is over, I’m trying to get back on a regular schedule but it is HARD. Anyway, that means Tuesday box office time. (as always, figures from renttrack by way of bollywoodhungama)

Hindi Film 101: Sanjay Dutt Part 5, Growing Up
Another part of the Sanjay Dutt saga! I keep thinking about spacing these out more, but if I did that, I wouldn’t even finish by the time the movie came out. (full index of Hindi Film 101 posts, including the rest of Sanjay, here)
Memorial Day: In Hindi Songs
It’s Memorial Day, which I am celebrating in the traditional American way, a barbecue. Although I am also sort of visiting a cemetery, since my friend’s backyard backs up on one. But that doesn’t mean I can’t take a moment to think about what it really means and why it is a unique holiday. Fair warning, this involves a lot of use of Rang De Basanti.
Monday Morning Questions Post: DIL Tweetalong Day! Starts in 3 Hours!!!!
Happy Monday! I will be busy on twitter for 3 hours, but otherwise I am here to answer questions and chat with you all!
Hindi Film 101: Sanjay Dutt Part 4, An American Girl
Back again! I’m just gonna keep putting up these things every few days until I get to the end. (full index of Hindi Film 101, including the previous Sanjay posts here)
Silly Sunday: Karan Johar Sequels, Part 2!!!! Kal Ho Na Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alveda Na Kehna Na Kehna, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Again, and Student of the Decade
I got very excited by this idea. A few of these are reposts, but the really long ones are original, written just for today. Which is why I had to do two parts, because this is much much much too long.
Watch a Movie With Me in 24 Hours! Dil Tweetalong/Watchalong
I’m pumped! I just have to get through one boring church morning today, and then another afternoon of useful household chores, and then funtime! Continue reading
Silly Sunday: Karan Johar Sequels!!! Part 1, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham Kabhi Khushi, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Hota Hai
What fun Karan Johar’s birthday week is! So many wonderful options for theme posts. This is a very very very long one. So long, that I had to split it in two parts, and it’s still really really long. Be warned!
Saturday Small Talk:Why I Didn’t See Parmanu and What I Did Instead
Did you notice that this Saturday hasn’t had the traditional spoiler and no spoiler reviews of the new Hindi release? There’s a reason for that! Oh, and this is also the “Saturday Small Talk” post I am trying out. If you have anything you want to share about news stories, movies you’ve watched, anything at all, throw it out here.
Hindi Film 101: Sanjay Dutt Part 3, Sanjay Earns His Own Naam
I’m back! The Sanjay story continues. And it starts to look a little brighter here. Before going even darker than ever.
Let’s Watch a Movie Together in 48 Hours!!!!!
We’re doing it! Another watchalong/tweetalong! Early morning in America, giving us all time to go off and do fun Memorial Day things later in the day. And early to very late evening everywhere else in the world.
TGIF: It’s Karan’s Day!!!! Let’s Celebrate Him
Happy Friday! It’s Karan’s Day, obviously there is only one possible topic for today’s post. All the many colors of Karan!!!! 3 separate categories, to reflect his fashion, his family, and his follicles.
Watch a Movie With Me On Monday!!!!! Morning in America, Evening Elsewhere
Okay, I think I figured this out! I found a time when the west coast, the east coast, and Italy can all coordinate. And also Japan and Australia, if people want to stay up very very late, your decision. India I didn’t bother about, because for some reason no one ever joins us from India. Very sad.
Happy Karan’s Birthday Again! In His Honor, Reposting the FanFic Post I Wrote Him
I wrote this back when I read his autobiography, before he even had his babies. But I think that last option still works, just change it so that the babies are twins and Karan is covering up their background for their own safety by claiming they were from a surrogate.
Friday Classic: Talvar, The Middle-Class Pinched From Both Sides
What a fascinating frustrating movie! Based on a fascinating frustrating real life case. Which, I am sure, many people in the comments already know much more about than I do.
A Repost in Honor of Karan’s Birthday! All His Ending’s fixed
I did a lot of work on this one, so why not reuse it? Alternate endings for every Karan movie, K2H2, K3G, ADHM, SOTY, MNIK, KANK, KHNH.
Happy Birthday Karan!!!!! 46 Reasons I Love You
46! Pretty soon he is going to have to acknowledge that he is straight up middle-aged, not just “mature”. (this is an updated and reposted post from last year)
Sanjay Dutt Bonus Post: How Sunil and Nargis Fell In Love
Datablue sent a link to an old interview of Sunil in a comment on the Sanjay posts, and it was so good that I decided it was worth a little mini-post to share it with you all.
Hindi Film 101: Sanjay Dutt Part 2, The Motherless Addict
This is the really sad section. So many terrible things happened to people around Sanjay during these years, and he floated above and out of it. Such is the blessing of drug addiction. (part 1 here) Continue reading
Hindi Film 101: Sanjay Dutt, Part 1: The Spoiled Son Turned Teenage Alcoholic
I’m finally doing it! The Sanjay Dutt Hindi Film 101 series! And if his movie gets delayed again, well that’s just too bad, they will have to live with my having already posted his series way way too early (not really, I’ll probably repost all these posts the day it comes out for convenience).
Want to Watch a Movie With Me On Twitter in 5 Days?
Hey, my office is closing for Memorial Day! That’s AWESOME!!!! I’m hosting my church quilting group and I really need an extra day to make the apartment opinionated-older-women clean. And also, it means we could do a twitter watchalong if we wanted! That is, if anyone is interested.
Wednesday Watching Post: What Are You Reading and Watching and Thinking This Week?
Happy Wednesday! It’s Wednesday, right? I was up kind of late last night working on the Telugu review. But now I will have coffee and it will all be better.
Tuesday Telugu: Gentleman, Nani is Here to Support Two Women
I finally found a way to watch this with subtitles!!!!! YuppTV, which I still don’t fully understand, had it. And it was, indeed, very much worth watching. Mostly for Nani. Who was not our protagonist and therefore had the best part. Because the most interesting role always goes to the character actors.
Silly Tuesday Discussion Post: Which Madhuri Iconic Look is Most Iconic?
On Friday I did a post on random Madhuri photos so we could pick our favorites. I purposefully avoided her iconic looks, thinking that wouldn’t be fair. But Asmita called me out on it, so now a bonus post! Which look is most iconic?
Box Office: Raazi Rides Again! And 102 STILL Not Out
This is a good week! Recent release doing very well in the second week, older release surprisingly still holding steady, and an assortment of other not so good movies still feeling in some of the screens. (as always, figures courtesy of renttrack by way of bollywoodhungama)
