Well, the numbers are out and AndhaDhun is a shocking hit! Not the biggest ever, or even the biggest of the year, but far bigger than I would expect for a film like this. (as always, figures from bollywoodhungama)
I did it! I managed to write a Monday Malayalam post after all! I am The Master!!!!! Now we have to see if I manage to write a box office post tomorrow or if that is just too much.

Happy Columbus Day! I actually have to go to work, because it’s one of those holidays that not everyone gets off. Fine with me, Columbus was a horrible horrible person. Anyway, help me ignore Columbus by asking me questions!
Don’t worry, I just cut off about 4-5 inches, you can’t even notice it. But it was also the funnest part of the day!
Moviemavengal confessed her love for the “fake marriage” romance trope, and it’s one I like quite a bit as well. And it’s pretty rare in Indian film, replaced by “real arranged marriage becomes love” which isn’t quite the same thing. So I shall write a few script suggestions just in case anyone needs any! (oh, and if you want to see one that already exists, check out Love By Square Foot on Netflix)
If you haven’t seen the film and want to see this movie as it was intended, DON’T READ ON. Read my non-spoiler review instead. It’s one of those movies that works best if it surprises you. But if you have seen it already (or never plan to, or just hate surprises), then you can read on.
I know most of you have already seen this, but I don’t care, I am making it a rerun anyway. Because it is such a great movie I am sure no one will mind rewatching it, and if you have somehow missed it, you MUST see it!

I already put up my No Spoilers review, and this film is such a fun ride, I encourage you to read that one and leave this one until after you have watched it. Unless you can’t handle violence, can’t handle thrillers, or for some other reason will never be able to watch this movie.
Fun movie! Surprisingly fun movie, especially after all the misery that was Badlapur. We are back to the lighthearted Johnny Gaddar version of Sriram Raghavan. Definitely recommend it if you want something fun with a great cast.
A Gentleman is my favorite movie of 2017 by a mile. It is clever and fun and light and happy and everything Stree is, but with jokes specifically for Americans instead of for small town Indians. And I am going to force as many people to watch it as possible!
I think I’ve referred to this in the past, but I’m not sure I’ve ever put up an actual picture. I’m not kidding when I say I have an actual alter to Shahrukh in my apartment.
This came up in a discussion on Friday’s post, the unquestionable truth that Shahrukh looks better the older he gets. And then the challenge became, what other stars aged into better looks than in their youth?
Don’t freak, he’s not super close to my neighborhood. He’s super close to my old apartment (like, half a block away), but my new apartment is a good mile and a half out of range.
Why over think it, you know? I’m not coming up with a theme or anything like that, I’m just saying out of all the candid photos I can find, these are the ones I like best. Feel free to disagree and post your own suggestions in the comments. Or to skip this post entirely if you can’t stand his face.
Another little story. Hopefully people like them, I certainly like writing them and thinking about all the little moments that make up Shahrukh in my life.
I love this movie. I love it so much, I was sure I had already reviewed it. But no, turns out I haven’t! So I get to now, and you can watch it before hand. It’s available on either the ErosNow channel on Amazon, or itunes.
I always forget how good this movie is, and then I watch it again and it is just REALLY REALLY good. And sometimes I feel like I am the only person who realizes that, it’s not talked about nearly as much as you would expect for a Farhan Akhtar/Hrithik Roshan/Amitabh Bachchan/Boman Irani/Amrish Puri/Om Puri/Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy/Javed Akhtar/Preity Zinta movie.

This is a post from a long long time back, but it’s a good post! Worth posting again, and so long as we are stuck in a dead news cycle, I thought I might as well squeeze it in.
So long as you are stuck at the hospital, I want you to have good things to read and watch and think about! I hate that feeling when sickness stops you from living your life, but the nice side is that you get an excuse to drop out of life for a while and live in fantasy.
This should be fun, for those of us who are SRK lovers. Or even not, so long as you have seen at least 2 Shahrukh movies, you can always have a least favorite.
