Friday Classics: Highway, the Darker Version of Jab Harry Met Sejal

This is a movie so powerful, and so frustrating, that I both can’t bring myself to rewatch it for this review, and don’t need to because I remember it so well. I hope some of you managed to watch it recently so you can join in the comments with your own impressions!

Upcoming Posts Announcement: Alia Week! Highway Tomorrow 3/29, Raazi Sunday 3/31, Shaandar 4/2 and Udta Punjab 4/5 Next Week!

Alia just won her FilmFare for Raazi, and we’ve been talking about her career in comments, so I feel like doing a theme week. I know a lot of you like Shaandar, Udta Punjab and Highway are on Netflix, Raazi just hit streaming. Ignore the Alia-factor, there’s plenty of reason to watch all these movies. Hindi Film 101: The Wonderful World of the Bhatt Family, Part 1, Nanabhai to Aashiqui

This is a suggestion from BollywoodNewbie (thanks BollywoodNewbir!) and it is a fun one, because the Bhatts are just so weird. Weird weird weird. Shashi Week! Sharmilee, Shashi and Raakhee and Spies and Twins and Planes and Snow and EVERYTHING!

This is SUCH a fun movie! And, Shashi wears an army officer’s uniform almost the entire time. Also, I know I am a day late on this review, but it kind of works well that I am writing it on Holi, because it fits with the kind of fun silly and a little flirty feel of the holiday.

Just called the garage, my car is STILL not fixed, which means there is a good chance I will be stuck with my rental car until I come back from my trip. It’s not a terrible thing, it’s just irritating and makes my life complicated. On the other hand, my ring got fixed!
