I’m going to be lazy, and just put up a post with two random questions on it for you all to talk about.

Monday Morning Questions! With A Question For You! What is Your Film Star Fantasy?
Happy Monday! Don’t worry, I know it is Aamir Week, he will get his celebration and question on Wednesday. But first, a general question and general discussion post!
October Trailer! Definitely a Mood Piece
I woke up at 2am and couldn’t get back to sleep, which worked out perfectly because that is also when the October teaser came out. So I can put up this post real quick right now.
Pari Review (SPOILERS): The Primal Fear of All Men Which Leads to the Primal Danger for All Women
Well, that was as draining and difficult as expected. NOT because it was a fake horror movie, but because it was a fake horror movie that was representing real horrors. If you are planning to watch it, don’t read on, read the no spoilers review instead. But if you aren’t planning to watch it and want to join in a fascinating discussion, please do!
Pari Review (No Spoilers): A Fairy Tale After All
Third movie in theaters in one weekend! Woo-hoo! Partly possible because I didn’t have to teach Sunday School for once, and because I was able to get to the early show on Friday so I didn’t spend my Saturday exhausted. So don’t get used to this, might be the only weekend for a while that I can make it happen. But it was nice to manage it once.
My Busy Weekend in Song Form
Goooooooooooooooood morning! I am being so productive this weekend! Not in blogging stuff, although I’m not doing bad with that, but in, like, life stuff.
Silly Sunday: For Women’s Day! Movies About Strong Women
Happy Sunday! This week, a collection of movies about strong survivor type women. Going with just outlines again, because I love it when you help me fill in the outlines! Oh, and if you are looking for SRK, he is at the last story.
Monday Malayalam (on Saturday): Carbon! Not a Great Movie
I got off work at 4:30 for once instead of 5, meaning I could just barely make the 5 o’clock show, meaning it was fate that I go see Carbon, since it was the only one playing at 5 o’clock. And turns out, it’s not a great movie! I don’t mind that I had to wait 3 months after its release to see it.
TGIF: For International Women’s Day! The SARI!!!!
Oh boy, this is a fun one! I’ve been saving it for a special occasion. Indian women looking fabulous in saris.
Friday Classics: Lajja, For International Women’s Day
This movie is just barely a classic. It’s not the best, it’s got quite a few massive flaws in fact, but it’s still really interesting and worthy of discussion. And the best part is how well it shows women rescuing themselves, very appropriate for today’s discussion.
TGIT for International Woman’s Day! Women Being Worshipped (lots of SRK)
I put this together for last year’s women’s day, and it was so good I had to repost and expand it. My first thought for International Women’s Day was a “look at these pretty women!” post, but I already did that. So, I’m going to go a little deeper. International Women’s Day is supposed to be about men respecting women. Doesn’t always work, of course, but that’s the idea. And so I want to put up some pictures of men being happily dominated by women
Thursday Tamil: Priyamana Thozhi, the Radical Notion That Men and Women Can Be Friends
This was the movie that I picked to download to my phone for my long day of travel, and I have no regrets! It was very very very pleasant. And a little interesting. But not super interesting.
Happy International Women’s Day!
(This is a reposted and Updated post from last year)
There are so many many many options for a Women’s Day post, that it kind of blew my mind and I couldn’t decide! Most empowering films for women? Most feminist songs? My favorite female characters?
Anyway, I decided to switch focus to the “International” part of it, and look at the most International women in Indian film!
Adopt My Adorable Temporary Dog!
Not related to anything else I blog about, I’ve been talking a lot about the dog I am fostering. She is adorable, great in an apartment, perfect in every way. Just, not the perfect dog for me. And I want her to go to a home where she will be perfect and loved, instead of just tolerated.
Me Too, Indian Style-Jeetendra Accused of Rape
Have you noticed that Bollywoodhungama always puts the really boring stories to the front with stuff like “You Won’t Believe!” or “Wow!” and then buries the really big ones? Well, Jeetendra’s rape accusation is that times a thousand. This has got to be the biggest story in the industry today, and everyone one is reporting it, but also burying it a little. Not just Bollywoodhungama, every website. I mean, they are reporting it, that’s good, but it’s not getting the kind of extra special obsessive treatment that Irrfan’s announcement-that-isn’t-really-an-announcement is getting.
Twitter Update: Amitabh is Cute, Salman is Proud, Irrfan Might Be Sick?
This post comes to you from the airport between flights! So, not a lot of time for research or content, but enough time to throw up something quick based on twitter.
Shammi Aunty: Twitter and Funeral Report Post Combined
This was fast! Although, it seems like they are often fast, the funeral happening shortly after the death. And it all happened while I was asleep, of course. So here I am writing about her death, and the funeral is already over. And the twitter messages too.
RIP Shammi, The Most Lovable Old Auntie
This was a thing to wake up to! And I had just mentioned her in a Sridevi post as someone who was still hale and healthy and going strong. Now I am worried about accidentally cursing her! Although she would probably forgive me, she seemed like someone who would just laugh off any problem or insult and keep going her own way.
Monday Malayalam: Annayum Rasoolum is on Netflix! A lookback at my review
Still on vacation! Time to write fun little posts, not time to watch a 3 hour movie (because I’m busy sitting in sunshine instead). So you will have to make do with a reposted review. A timely one, since Annayum Rasoolum was just added to Netflix (full list of everything on Netflix with my recommendations here).
Monday Morning Questions: I’m Still On Vacation! But That Doesn’t Mean I Don’t Want to Hear From You
Happy Monday! I’m still on vacation! Plan for today: pedicure. That’s it. That’s the whole plan. Well, and also lunch. The key to a good vacation, is not to overbook.
Netflix List! New Arrivals, But Also New Departures
Hmm. We gained Pardes and some more regional options, but lost Andaz Apna Apna. So, a mixed bag. (Accessbollywood.net does the real work of keeping this list updated, you should definitely absolutely subscribe to them for your day to day updates.)
Silly Sunday: I’m on Vacation, so You Get To Help Me Write It This Week!
I’ve got a couple of story ideas, but I’ve got vacation brain so I can’t fully work them out. You get to help me with that! It’ll be fun!
Saturday Classics: Silsila! For Holi!
Happy Saturday! I’m on vacation, so I missed yesterday’s Friday classic post. And posts will be a bit sparse for the next few days. But I’m gonna make up for it by doing a stone-cold classic, which is also holiday appropriate, for the random one-off Saturday Classics post.
Vacation Day 2! Report From the Road
Happy Vacation to me! And sorry-few-posts to you! But if you are curious how everything is going/want to see a random collection of songs, you can read this. And I’m gonna try to a real actual post sometime later today maybe.
Mohanlal Film Index
My first non-Hindi star index! I don’t know how useful these are for you, the readers, but I find them super useful. Also, it is a nice way to kill a day with reruns while I am traveling. Turns out, I may have done more Mohanlal reviews than any other actor!
