It had to start late, because I didn’t want him to share with Aamir. But now the decks are cleared, Dangal is out, so I can focus on the birthday boy! I’ll be repurposing my 50 reasons to love him post from last year, updating and polishing and of course adding a reason 51. But I also wanted to post a couple of bonus “best of” posts. I haven’t seen everything he’s done, so this is just “best of” what I have seen, not all time. Feel free to mention anything I might have missed in the comments!

Happy Birthday Raj Kapoor!
You’re dead, but that’s no reason to stop celebrating. Your legacy lives on in many ways. So I am going to count down 63 reasons I love you, one for every year you lived (until you died).
Happy Birthday Rajnikanth!
I really don’t have much to say, besides “Happy Birthday!” But it is such a significant event, I felt like I should acknowledge it somehow. So here, from the depths of my great ignorance, are the first dozen reasons I have for loving you.
Happy Birthday Dilip Sahib!!!!
I might finally got around to reading his biography! I made my friend buy it and bring it to me aaaaaallllllll the way from India, and I STILL hadn’t read it. But surely his birthday would be an occasion for that, right? I was tempted to do a full 94 reasons I love him, but maybe that should wait until next year when he hits 95. This year, I will just do 32, for the age he was won the first FilmFare Award ever.
Massive Combined Birthday Post!
Happy Birthday Shotgun Sinha, Dia Mirza, Dino Morea, and Priya Gill! Phew! I’m exhausted! Obviously, they are not going to each get reasons I love them. Let’s see, how to be fair? Okay, each person gets 3 reasons, either 2 songs and one fact or two facts and one song. Whatever I feel like.
Happy Birthday Sharmila! Sorry You Had To Go After Dharmendra!
Well, it’s only fair, right? Age before beauty and all that. But now Dharmendra is done and it’s Sharmila’s turn to get a post all to herself! Let’s see, how many reasons do I have to love her? How about 13, for the age you were when you made your debut?
Happy Birthday Dharmendra!
Okay, big day today, and really really big day tomorrow. But at least tomorrow I won’t feel guilty for sort of combining people, whereas today Dharmendra and Sharmila clearly deserve their very own posts! So, Dharam-Garam, here are 10 reasons I love you, one for every decade you’ve lived (counting the 9th one you are starting today) plus one to grow on.
Happy Birthday Manish Malhotra! In Your Honor, a Post About Costumes!
I was debating what, if anything, to do for Manish. And then Filmilibrarian started a conversation on my Monday Questions post about costumes, and I have decided to ruthlessly re-purpose it for a post about costumes in honor of Manish. Sorry Filmilibrarian! Your question was just too good to resist!
Happy Birthday Tabu!!!
Tabu is 45 today! Not the biggest star, at least not any more, but one I am inordinately fond of. So, 14 reasons I love her, for the age she was when she made her first film.
Shahrukh Interview Second Half! He Changes Shirts!
Don’t panic, he still doesn’t use the buttons. And one of them is white, so a little see-through. It’s all good.
Shahrukh’s Personal Present to Us
He tweeted something! Just to ME! Okay, just to everyone who love him and is always there for him. Including ME! Because I made him a cake.
Another Birthday Gift! Shahrukh Releases a New Interview
He already gave us a Dear Zindagi trailer, which was wonderful, but just to make sure we fully celebrate, he gave us another video as well!
Happy Birthday Shahrukh! Chocolate is the Only Really Appropriate Way to Recreate You!
My cake is done! Thanks to discount Halloween candy I found in my freezer. So beautiful! I can’t wait to eat his nose.
Happy Birthday Shahrukh! Look at my Frosted Cake!
It’s now officially Shahrukh’s birthday in America! Let the bells ring out, the celebrations start! In my apartment, I have now finished frosting my cake.
Happy Birthday Shahrukh!!! In India!!!
It’s not yet November 2 in America, but it already is in India, so I am going to go ahead and start celebrating. Sort of.
Happy Birthday Aish!
Aish is not my favorite actress ever, or my favorite public persona person. But on her birthday, I am going to follow a “if you can’t say anything nice…” policy, and just focus on her dancing, which is incredible. She shows both Bharat Natyam training, and a really good ability to sell a dance onscreen. So here are my 12 favorite Aish dances.
Happy 2 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday!
Happy 2 Days to Shahrukh’s birthday! My two favorite people in Shahrukh’s life! (not counting his kids, because they got yesterday’s post)
Happy 3 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday!
Three, three, what could I do for 3? Oh! I know!
Happy 4 Days Until Shahrukh’s Birthday!
I got pretty silly yesterday. Let’s see if I can pull it back and be serious. The most admirable things Shahrukh has done.
Happy 5 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday!
Okay, getting down to the wire, and a little bit silly as the excitement builds, you ready for my 5 favorite aspects of Shahrukh’s appearance?
Happy 6 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday!
Well, I already did favorite performances in films, this is something slightly different, favorite characters. Favorite characters who I would love no matter who played them.
Happy 7 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday!
My 7 favorite Shahrukh co-stars! Obviously, you know who number one is. But the others may surprise you! (I’ve been doing this for 9 days now, 16 favorite films here, 15 favorite fanvids here, 14 favorite pictures here, 13 sad facts here, 12 happy facts here, 11 best films here, 10 best quotes here, 9 best performances here, 8 best ads here)
Happy 8 Days to Shahrukh’s Birthday! King of Admen!
Shahrukh is known for being brand ambassador for anything and everything. I’ve listed a few of his ads before, there may be some repeats in here, but here are 8 of the best I’ve been able to find (I make no promises about these being the best in existence, because I haven’t seen every SRK ad ever).
Happy 9 Days Until Shahrukh’s Birthday!
I did top 11 movies a couple days ago, I’m going to go slightly different today, and do top nine performances. Even if the movie as a whole doesn’t hold together, or even if it is so brilliant all around you never noticed what Shahrukh was doing, here are his greatest performances as an actor.
Happy Birthday Prabhas!!!
A bit of a tricky one. I feel like I can’t just ignore it, but I’m also not sure I really know him well enough to do a good post. If he were a real life person, he would be one that I just make 2 dozen chocolate chip cookies and a card for his birthday, because everyone likes cookies. Not like a good friend that I actually make something real for (oh! That reminds me, my best friend’s birthday is in a few weeks, I have to get to work!). So I’ll do the blog post equivalent of 2 dozen cookies, and just throw together a dozen reasons I love him.
