If you care about the censor board’s opinion, they like Dear Zindagi. Personally, I don’t care at all, but I am kind of surprised by the extreme level of support they are giving it! Oh, and there’s also a new teaser. Oh, and the full album just came out! 7 days before the movie release. And no Ali Zafar songs in sight.

Happy Twitter Tweets!
These aren’t even news items, they are just quick posts on twitter that made me happy. And why not share happiness!
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Full Summary Part 7: The Part With the Friendly Appearance
Okay, I need to hurry through this to be finished by Shahrukh Week, starting on Wednesday (this time-posts on Shahrukh movies in which he mentors young women!). I am all the way past the Interval of ADHM, and my posts are slowly increasing in length, so I think I should be able to finish this thing off soon.
Box Office: Rock On 2 Does Terribly, Not Because of Demonetization, But Because It Is Terrible!
Woot! Global box office is out! Which is completely unaffected by the demonetization of India. Which means the Rock On 2 producer’s arguments that it is only doing badly because people can’t buy tickets don’t hold up at all.
Monday Morning Question Post! Life Goes On!
As you know if you are a regularly reader, the election sort of knocked me off my feet last week. But I am trying to be better this week, return to a routine and some sense of regular life. Which means Monday Morning Questions! (previous posts here and here and here and here and here and here and here)
ADHM Full Summary Part 6: Aish Arrives!
New Koffee With Karan!!!! Twinkle and Akshay!!!
Once again, The Internet has saved me! And I encourage you to go on your own quest to discover the newest episode. Oh, and last week’s episode is now available LEGALLY on this website: http://www.hotstar.com/tv/koffee-with-karan/1525
Happy Children’s Day!!!
Children’s Day in India is November 14th, because that’s Nehru’s birthday, and Nehru loved children. Isn’t that sweet? And, just like World Animal Day and all the other sub-holidays, I am marking the occasion with a theme video post.
Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana: So Cute! A Childhood Love Story Between Teenagers
I knew this movie was a big deal, and I knew it was inspired/related to Maine Pyar Kiya. But I didn’t know how innocent it would be! Innocent like Maine Pyar Kiya, but even more so.
Karan Johar Reveals All!!! (not really)
Moviemavengal just tweeted me an awesome article (really, you should all follow her on twitter), an interview with Karan Johar where he goes in depth about his creative process, his career ambitions, and so on and so on.
New Dangal Trailer! Cute cute cute cute cute!
Aamir launched a new song from Dangal a couple of days ago, and carefully avoided commenting on anything controversial at the launch, from the monetary thing-I-don’t-fully-understand to the terrible thing that is too emotional for me to talk about. Maybe that’s why Aamir isn’t talking about it either? Or maybe it’s because he wants this movie to actually release without controversy.
Christmas Give Away Week 2! Congrats to the 2nd Winner!
In case you missed it, the contest is, whoever makes the most comments within a given week, “wins”, and I mail them a Christmas card! You can only win once, so if the busiest commentator of the week has previously won, I will move down to the next one on the list.
TGIF Super Superlatives Post: Something to Argue Over All Weekend!!!
This came up from a discussion I had in the comments back on Monday with the commentator “Sal” about Kunal Kapoor. And I thought “Heck, I bet I can get another silly Friday post out of this! And one that will leave you lots to discuss and consider over the weekend!” Because I KNOW you are not all going to agree with me on all of these.
Happy Veteran’s Day/Armistice Day!
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month! Very easy to remember, very hard to ignore. That’s when WWI officially ended. Over one million Indian troops served overseas, and 74,187 died. (2 million Americans served, and 116,300 died. Although the majority of those deaths were from the influenza epidemic, not battle)
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Full Summary, Part 5 of ??: Chandni! O Mere Chandni! And a Statement on the Position of the Heroine
Okay, back to work! Ish. I’ll still be taking things slow, but I need to do something, and I also need to finish all my thoughts on ADHM before I get too far from the last time I saw it.
My First Real Post Post-Depression! Shahrukh is Bringing Me Out of It!
I want to spend another day listening to lament songs and distracting myself by doing work-work, like reconciling the office bank statement. But Shahrukh is dragging me out of it. I can’t NOT post about a new Dear Zindagi trailer.
A Different Kind of Spiritual Comfort Post
Right after I put up my post about how everyone finds spiritual sustenance in different places, I got an urgent message from a friend saying she needed photos of sexy Indian men IMMEDIATELY! Which kind of proves my point. And also suggested another post idea.
Songs to Bring Spiritual Comfort
I’m mourning today, like can’t stop crying, can’t find anything good in the world mourning. I was trying to think of the last time I felt like this, I think it was when my grandmother was dying, my grandfather had just died, my father was worried about losing his job, and my mother was recovering from major surgery (yes these things all happened at the same time). That was years ago, and the small piece of comfort I have today is that at least I have something that does bring me spiritual comfort, which I didn’t have then.
Polls Are Closed, Time to Pray
I don’t know why praying feels like it will make a difference at this point, whatever happened has already happened, we are just finding out about it now. But there is nothing else to do, so we might as well.
Election Day! GO VOTE!!!!!!
Even if you have to stand in line, even if it makes you miss a shift at work, even if you are scared of protestors or campaigners outside the polling line, DO IT!!! Consistently, polling shows that the majority of people in America don’t agree with the politicians, but the politicians don’t care, because the majority of people don’t vote. If you want America to start reflecting the concerns of people of color, young people, and everyone else who doesn’t feel heard, we need to show that we will show up and help elect people. Or not elect them. If you don’t choose “the better of two bad options”, then the worse of the two bad options will keep winning. And if you need more information, here is google’s voter tool: https://www.google.com/search?q=where+do+i+vote#eob=va/4/16/
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Full Summary Part 4: Including the Missing Song!!!
Part 4! I am just zipping along! Sort of! Not really! But to be fair, I am also doing really short posts. I could probably have knocked this whole thing out in 4, if I did longer lengths. But then I would get all tired and resentful and wouldn’t have the energy to post about anything else. So, part 4, still not up to Interval! (part 1 here, part 2 here, part 3 here)
Box Office Update: ADHM Drops Off at Home, Soars Overseas
Yay, second weekend box office is available! And that global-local/multiplex-singlescreen divide is popping up, just as anticipated. Really, these films are not going to clash, besides me, there just aren’t that many people who would be interested in both.
Monday Morning Questions Post! Election Week, Distract Me!
2 Good Pieces of Dear Zindagi News!!!
I checked twitter this morning, and was rewarded with wonderful news! And yet another sign that Shahrukh really does care about me!
Koffee With Karan! Best Quotes!
Internet Piracy for the win!!!! Stupid Hotstar.com, the legal website, won’t accept payment from outside India, even using a credit card. So I hunted and googled and got ten minutes into one video that was pulled literally as I was watching it, and finally a found a deep dark place that had a high quality version available which lasted long enough for me to see the whole show.
