Happy Friday! The Battle continues! I was thinking I would be done with my scene by scene posts by now, but I guess not. Maybe I can do another surge today, and then I can come back for the ending and final summary posts next week. We’ll see. (part 24 here, you can go back from there)

Although it’s also strangely soothing to have all this big battle with physical fireworks after the emotional drudgery of the past few scenes. Happy day after Karan Johar’s Birthday! And 4 (5?) days after Aditya Chopra‘s. I thought, for their birthdays, it might be interesting to talk about their respective studios, both uniquely a reflection of one man’s genius.

Happy Wednesday! In 4 more days I will be moved into my new apartment, yay! And out of my parents’ back bedroom, double yay!
This is a nice small idea film. But it is a real gem of an idea, and one I very much appreciate, especially since it is following the highest ideals of communism and treating the world as a community by highlighting an issue totally unrelated to Kerala.
I know we remember, because we have been obsessively crawling through this film moment by moment and scene by scene. But would anybody else? (part 21 here, you can crawl back through the archives from there)
I haven’t put up a podcast in a few weeks, because there hasn’t been anything to watch for a few weeks (except Bahubali over and over and over again). But I thought it would be a good time to put up a podcast MovieMavenGal and I recorded a while back, actually the beginning of our Angamaly Diaries conversation. Especially since MovieMavenGal just started putting up her video reviews!
Happy Tuesday! Time to finish off my posts on Crime and Film (first post here). And if I end up mysteriously disappearing, or randomly shot in a drive-by, you will know why! But it probably won’t happen. Although my new apartment is in the neighborhood of the American headquarters for D-Company….Oh well, it will probably be fine.
I finished the sad parts, yay! And then celebrated by taking 2 days off. And writing yet another fanfic (by the way, almost nobody reads the fanfics, but the few who do, really really enjoy them. And I really really enjoy writing them!) Anyway, now I am back. Time for the thrilling conclusion! Or at least, the first part of it. Well, I managed to finish all the sad bits on Friday, so only happy-happy is left! Well, happy-happy and fighty-fighty. Fight fight fight. But, what if we didn’t need the fight? Or what if the fight had come sooner? How might things have been different? I already did one alternative happy version of the film, but there has been a complaint that it is still not happy enough, because Anushka 1 and Prabhas 1 didn’t get to raise their son. So I fixed that!
I don’t pay much attention to the rumors of who is dating who and what film maybe possibly might be signed by what actor. But the hardcore industrial stuff, that I find FASCINATING! And there were two stories that came out recently that I find really interesting.
Happy Monday! I am writing this from my parent’s guest room, because my apartment is now so packed up, it has become unlivable. So this will be a bit of an odd week in Margaret-world, hiding out in the back bedroom at my parents and occasionally “visiting” my real place to put a few more things in boxes. But that just means all the more reason you should ask me stuff and distract me!
I skipped my usual weekly trip to the movie theater (because packing), so I didn’t see either Half-Girlfriend or English Medium. And I missed Meri Pyari Bindu last week. But thank goodness, I don’t have to try to rush around and make up for that, because moviemavengal did the work for me.
I love Karan. Love love love. Both as an artist and a public figure. But I have to admit, he has a problem with endings. Every film either drags on too long or ends too soon. There’s always a feeling of “wait, that’s all there is?” at the end of it. And so, as my birthday gift in advance to him, I am going to fix all that! (real birthday post will go up in a couple days on the actual birthday)
It’s Aditya Chopra’s birthday today, but I don’t want to make a big fuss, because it seems like he isn’t the kind of guy who likes a big fuss. With that in mind, I will celebrate by letting his work speak for itself. And I will do 28 reasons, one for every year since he started working in film. The reverse of last year, when I did 18 reasons, one for each year he was in age. (This is an updated and reposted post from last year)
I finally found the perfect apartment that fits all my impossible requirements, yay!!!! But now I have to put everything I own in boxes, boooooo. So while I sweat and strain and throw my back out, you can read this post and try to picture it.
Phew! We are almost to the return to the present day and the cathartic battle scenes! But first, the last bit of sad. And a subtle call back to something way way way way way back at the beginning of the film (part 19 here, you can crawl back from there)
Happy second to last “sad part”. Thank goodness I got to take a break in the middle for our weekly TGIF post. Otherwise this would have been much too hard to get through. It’s always odd when you see period actors in modern clothing, right? Like, Colin Firth (The One True Darcy) never looks quite right to me in jeans. But, on the other hand, the Bahubali cast in modern clothes does make me think “oh good, it’s just a movie! I don’t have to be so sad/scared/angry about it.” And I thought it might cheer us all up to share that experience this Friday. Feel free to put your favorite “happy happy!” photos of these actors in the comments, if I missed any.
Welcome back! I decided I wanted to get all the sad parts over with as quickly as possible. So sad part part 1 was a few hours ago, now sad part part 2, and sad part part 3 will be going up in a bit. And then, thank goodness, we just have the big old battle to deal with! Which might wait until Monday, seems like you should all have enough to talk about with these three posts over the weekend.
That was the line, wasn’t it? To get Ramya to change would be like getting the sun to rise in the West? Well, it happens here! And it is so sad, that I am going to be getting through this section considerably faster than the previous parts, just to get it over with. (part 16 here, you can go back from there)
