Partly because the films are so open to interpretation, they deserve to be watched with fresh eyes and your own decisions made about them. I’m back! I already put up the No Spoilers review which pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the film. The plot is a total mess, so knowing spoilers won’t really change anything. This review is probably more helpful for people who have seen the film and are confused (as I was), than for people curious what the film is about. Bottomline is, it’s about nothing!
I’m gonna suggest you don’t spoil yourself for this one. Beyond knowing that none of the disappointing shallow views of female friendship that the trailer promised actually happened. No drunken fight to wait for, no jealousy over a man, not even an evil domineering mother. But as for what actually does happen, if at all possible, try to let it play out for you as it was meant to be played, just read the no spoilers review and save this review for after you have seen it on the big screen.
This is an actual excellent film, and a very fun watch. It doesn’t really matter if you know what happens, you can still enjoy watching it play out, but if you like being surprised and having edge of your seat thrills, maybe wait and read the No Spoilers review first, and then this one after you have seen the movie.
You can feel free to read this SPOILERS review, there’s nothing super unexpected in the film that you couldn’t guess from the trailer and the cast list. But DON’T READ THIS IF YOU LIKED THE MOVIE!!! Or do, I don’t know your preferences for film reviews. Just be aware that I kind of hated it.
No, that title isn’t a typo. It was promoted as a father-son story, but there’s another layer to it. Oh, and it’s still worth watching even if you read the SPOILERS review just for the performances, but the plot will have more impact if you go in fresh. So, read the “no spoilers” review instead if you can!

Welcome to the beginning of Aamir Day! No real reason, I just want to give him his own index just like Shahrukh and Hrithik and Salman, and now’s as good a time as any. I finally watched it! Partly for Maddy, partly for my beloved Amit Sadh (if you like him in this, WATCH RUNNING SHAADI!). They were both good. And I am putting it up as a “Tuesday Tamil”, even though it is in Hindi, because really we are all watching if for Maddy mostly, and he is a Tamil industry guy. (part 2 here)
Well, this was a pointless movie! As in, the whole plot happens, and then you realize at the end “wait, that had no effect on anything”. Not in a clever ironic way, but like the scriptwriter didn’t think it through. And that’s on top of the themes and characters just not being what they promised to be. (no spoilers review here)
I already posted my “no spoilers” review, and you might want to read that instead of this one, even if you are familiar with the “real” story, because the movie takes some interesting liberties with it.
This is a tricky one, on the one hand there is so much in it that I really want to go through step by step and make sure I don’t miss anything. On the other hand, there isn’t enough in it (and I don’t want to spend so much time) for me to do a “real” scene by scene, shot by shot, style discussion. So I’m gonna do kind of a half one.
